I've decided to use my 6x,xxx mi lq4 for a mild turbo build.I will be using truck manifolds and fabricating all the exhaust and intercooler piping.(I've got two friends who are excellent welders)I plan on using arp rod bolts and main and head studs.I know this won't last forever but I just wanna have fun until it breaks.
How hard is it to make 500-550rwhp reliably on a stock lq4 w/ 317's? What turbo would be good for this without breaking the bank?
I know forced induction isn't cheap, but I'm not looking for a race car either.Just want to start out with something simple and eventually upgrade when this setup gets boring lol.I would like to see if other people are running a similar setup and what the numbers are.
Thanks

What kind of quarter mile times w/ 550rwhp and an a4?(rough estimate,I'm not sure what rear gear I'll run yet)Low 11's or high 10's possible w/ that kind of power?

My old nitrous/h/c car went 10.008@133 at 3300 raceweight with 551rwhp on 28" slicks, so I'd say it depends on your raceweight. If you are full weight + an iron block, let's say 3700, I"m thinking mid 10 second potential.
