what don't you think won't work? the parts should all fit the same.

I would get a custom tune regardless if its 98 or 2002.

Are you sure you want to go with a centrifugal? the G trim blower runs out of steam fast, you may want to consider going with a larger blower such as the T trim.

I would suggest doing the bottom end if you have the funds.

contact rmcr racing out of colorado to do the t trim kit. speed inc might be able to help you too. they are a sponsor

Here's what you'll need for 550 rwhp.

10:1 compression, 12-13 lbs of boost, 2.75 pulley, a nice supercharger cam and all the usual bolt ons.

I would recommend a Speed Density tune and use methanol/alky injection to keep the intake air temperature down.

Good Luck man and take lots of pics

That blower will be maxxed out by the way and once you start overspinning it , the bearings will wear out and its expensive as **** to get it repaired. Keep your revs under 6500 if possible. That's why I recommend going to a bigger blower.

I would get a built short block now cause you will need it later. (they all go)
You will be a boost junkie trust me.

With the right cam, ported heads, exhaust, and 2.65" pulley, you can make 550rwhp at 7-8psi. But, the G-Trim will still be maxed out, and so will the stock bottom end.

I don't see any reason the kit wouldn't work. Definitely have it tuned after it's all together.

thanks this is my first ls build so i think the g trim will hold me over for now. the car already has 456 gears with a spool from the previous build. that being said with the six speed it should move along pretty good. once the bottom goes then we step up for more boost and forged bottom

The size pulley depends on which blower and what size motor. Optimum compression is 9.5:1 or so. There are plenty of Corvettes running 550-600rwhp on otherwise stock engines. Meth is good. See my sig. Made that power with a 2.95 pulley.

its been a couple of days but im back. i got a v-9 intercooled kit was wondering if i should keep the power cooler or use a big front mount because i have more than enough room. second instead of maxing out the head unit would it be alright to bump compression up alittle and keep boost relatively low. thanks again need someone to bounce ideas off of

you'll lose 2-3 psi if you go with a front mount. The Gtrim head unit is simply just doesn't push enough cfm. you are better off using the powercooler, it works great. and if you decide to go with YSi or T trim, you can cut the nipple off and reweld a bigger one so that the outlet of the impeller will match the intake of the power cooler. Vortech told me the power cooler can support 15 psi with the Ysi blower.

i am ok with running power cooler looks nice as long as you keep it shiny what about bumping compression a little so i can run lower boost and keep rpm under 6500

I'd keep it at 10-10.5:1 tops.
