driveability w/ 96lb injectors question
*Yes, mods I know this is the FI section.....not the fuel section. I did it on purpose*
How is your part throttle and idle with 96lb injectors/driver box and a big cam (240d/650l)? My tuner said he had trouble getting the A/F to lean out. He tried all kinds of things. I figured its just tough to get injectors that big to drive PERFECT under very light throttle. As soon as I give it 50% or more throttle its ****.

I can't get my car to idle leaner then high 10's AFR... but everything else is ok.
if I reduce the pw's any further I get alot of other drivability issues like bucking around....

pm zombiess. I know you guys talk. He has 96's but runs them with a mega squirt. It has idle issues that he is still working on but a much much smaller cam. He still might have insight for ya though.
BTW, goo dto see it together, and has nice potential.

Rick at synergy is quite the turbo tuning guru too. He has tuned many of mine (and others) turbo builds to perfection.......but for some reason, my car wasn't responding very much to some changes he was trying. I run a stock PCM w/ HP tuners 3 bar.
I am a virgin when it comes to tuning terminology. But I know he mentioned something like "I tried 50-60% changes on the part throttle ve table's and saw no change". I know he tried EVERYTHING. Car idles well for the large cam thats in it, but just rich. And the part throttle is a little rich and has an interesting buck (or stumble) from a stop at VERY minimal throttle.
I just installed a new IAC valve which he said MIGHT help. I think my car needs to learn that its there a little bit.

My car has 160lbs in it, controlled via BS3. It idles and cruises fine, its just a little richer than I like. At idle the AFR is usualy in the 11.5-12.5 range. I am considering putting on some 83 lbs injectors in it. Whats the ideal AFR for idle and part throttle on a FI car?

I have BS3 and 96's and Intmd8 (Jim M.) tuned it, my base fuel pressure like ~40. You can't keep stock fuel pressure and run big injectors typically because most of the time you can't take away enough fuel down low.

I'm running the 95lb/hr injectors with my MSII setup. My fuel pressure is 72psi since both pumps are on full time and i'm still running the stock returnless setup. The only idle issues I experience are in park/neutral, I get some surging. In gear it has zero issues and idles at 13.5-14.0 a/f. I'll have to do some more fine tweaking to get the neutral idle to surge less, but there is very little resolution left due to my fuel pressure being so high.
If I ever stop being lazy and wire up a hobbs switch to the 2nd pump it would probably be perfect.
