Alternator Relocation Bracket That works?
#21
Here are some pics of the setup.
Had the designer of the bracket himself drop off the parts. Great guy!
Only thing holding me back from starting the car up is the wiring. The new alternator plug has 3 wires that go into it. Our stock LS1 setup has 1 wire plug.
Any ideas guy? Anyone with a speed inc bracket in here that can help =).
Also what size belt are you guys using? All my pulleys are stock, and the idler pulley under the powersteering pump remains.

yea you only use one wire.... i have to look at mine.
email larry and have him ask dan... he'll know exactly which one.
p.s. i think you have to swap in the pully off your stock alternator also.

just trying to help out, wish somebody would have helped me when i was in the same spot but it was wayy back before i had the knowledge i have now. Ive seen and had way to many similar problems with this alternator relocation stuff and i know it can get frustrating and paralyze your entire build in the mean time, i just have very important and useful info on how to solve the relocation problem without breaking the bank, thats all I also want to add that the Speed inc setup pictured looks very nice, that bracket looks tough! good stuff guys keep em coming

Update!
Drove the car to work today, which is about a 30min drive and the belt stayed on!!
Will post pics later tonight. The alternator sits so low compared to the old setup. It almost looks stock!
The great thing about this setup is changing belts out is now very easy. All that is required is hex key.
Wanted to say thanks again to Larry from Speed Inc, and Kevin from Machinehead for making a quality bracket.

It should clear with a lot of room to spare. This bracket bolts where the tensioner used to be, while the other kits bolt into the head. So we are saving like 3-4 inch, which means that it is a lot farther away from the hood.

Drove home from work and the belt is still perfect!
This is the FIRST TIME EVER, that I have driven somewhere and back without shredding a belt!
This is a true bolt on alternator relocation bracket. There was NOTHING to shim, it is aligned perfectly when you bolt it on.
Belt size is 74inches if you use the stock pulley underneath the powersteering.
Also you need to use the wire marked as L on the new connector.
My Review is A+ for design, quality, and simple installation.
Sits VERY low, so no problems with an aftermarket fuel rail!

Here's more pics of the SmokinHawk relocation bracket I got installed last night. Did have fenix99's setup but had to put the tensioner on the DS head so I lost my power steering.
