Default Anyone replaced the steel fuel tank with a plastic one?

I would like to find any information on what's required to make this work. I already have the plastic tank & pump.

The plastic tank is about 20 lbs lighter that the 98 steel tank & I got a 99 plastic tank & pump cheap, so why not??

Why is the 98 setup better??

plug and play fuel system is avaliable for it. Also the fuel return system is better on a 98. I would think you would have to change some fuel lines also. But I am not sure.

it means you can cut a hole in the bottom of the tank and weld in a , well sump i dont know how else to say it sorry . it is used for high HP motors that need lots of fuel and the only way to deliever that fuel is by external Fuel pump. so the fuel is then pumped out of the bottom of the tank.. here is a link to Harlens set up .. it common practice of 98 so we dont have to buy a Fabbed Tank and we get to save some money http://harlan-engineering.com/fuelsy...umpedtank1.jpg

hope this helps

thanks for the info & photos. Anyone have schematic or diagram of 98 & later fuel system, so I can compare them.
