Default Injectors for 408 N/A

I am in the process of building a 408 N/A when I get home from Iraq. It will be about 11.4:1 CR. I'm not sure of the cam yet, will have Pat G spec me out one soon. But I'm shooting for at least 500 RWHP in my 98 T/A. It will have L92 heads ported and I have the L76 manifold/Holley 90mm TB right now with the stock injectors which if I remember right are 39 pounders. Are these going to be big enough for my setup or will I need to email FIC to get them resized? I will be running a racetronix pump with hotwire kit also. I can't call anyone due to the phones over here suck, so I have to do this all online. Thanks for any help you guys can give me! Jess

Might as well get 60lb injectors and have room left to grow later.

I feel your pain on the having to do it all online i am deployed too and my mechanic has been doing my LS1 T56 swap into my 82 for the past two months, I have been sourcing parts everywhere so its been hard.

I agree though go with bigger injectors, It never HURTS to go bigger than needed the computer will control the fuel, your injectors just wont run at a high duty cycle which is not a bad thing. It also will give you the option of adding nos if you so desire at a later date, your engine will run fine with a 100 shot so if 500 hp is not euf (and it wont be after a while LOL) you can throw some power adders on and not have to worry about leaning out.

when I upgrade my engine next year I will be going with a LS2 with cnced ls6 heads and fast intake, and T2 or ms3 cam I plan for 500rwhp also.

Yes, I agree. It is a big pain in the ***! Along with my original question-does anyone know what connector the L76 injectors take? I think they are EV6, but not sure since I don't have them in front of me and won't for another couple of months. So, hopefully FIC will chime in here....can a custom injector be made to fit my stock LS1 harness, yet fit in the stock L76 intake and fuel rails along with the proper pound rating that I need????

do you guys realize that a 60# injector running at 58psi can support a N/A motor to 900 HP and still be at 80DS. 600HP N/a only needs 42's rated at 3 bar. Any standard size injector will fit the ls6 intake. We have 42ls1 drop ins for 239 for the set. If you are in the service its free shipping anywhere. As far as the connector. The l76 used originally in the holden had the same connector as the ls1.(minitimer) It doesn't really matter as we sell ls1 injectors with either plug. Just tell me what wire harness you are using,

Just email Jon at FIC, he will set you up with the right injector.

If you do want nitrous someday, a wet kit will do the job, the injectors don't matter unless you are going to a dry kit.

The computer can control the fueling if you have the right data for the injector and a tuner who knows how to set everything up. Its not like you plug them in and they magically get controlled by the computer.

I will be using the factory harness (LS1/98 T/A) with an L76 intake that used to be sold direct from GM as a package deal with the inj., fuel rails and DBW TB. So, if the injectors are 39's-which I'm not for sure, how much would it cost me to get them upsized so I don't max out my duty cycle?

the 39 injectors sold with that kit are the FMS blue 39 with a split spray used in ford with multiple intake valves. They also have the UScar Plug and need an adapter. Why they sell those is beyond me. I will just trade them for the 42's that will plug and play in your car. No adapters and the injector will have the right spray pattern.

FIC beat me to it... for NA I think the 42s are the solid choice.
