Default Can I clean injectors off the motor?

I have a 5.3 that has around 1,000 miles, Has been sitting 4 or 5 years - Put a Howell harness on it (it's in a street rod) - Has fire, The injector wires are pulsing (test light) but the injector will not fire - I hooked a couple leads on a 9V battery and trued to manually fire them and no dice. I tried this on my DD 5.3 and I could hear them clicking.
I pulled the rails and dumped the gas out and am looking for a way to "unstick" them. Any ideas would be welcome. Anything I could soak them in?

Thx.

that works too but next time do not use such caustic chemicals. The acetone will break down the epoxy on the coil windings inside the injector, it gets in through the terminal pins when you soak them. This can cause a turn to turn short and the injector can fail. I don't think a short burst with acetone will hurt but i would not do that again

I didn't soak the whole thing, Just submerged the tip in about 3/4" of acetone and dumped some in the rail. Works great now - I will now run som injector cleaner through the fuel.

if you have injectors sitting they get stuck, not because of dirt, Its like paraffin wax. Boiling them gets them freed up then run them and they are fine. The only real way to clean them is to remove the filter and use a ultrasonic bath with a solvent while they are being pulsed.
