Right, but up to what psi?

You have to deal with maximum pressure abilities of the system, which varies with your HP/fuel consumption. Typically systems operate up to 75psi, but this is only if there is sufficient pumping capacity to maintain this pressure.

On a G8, I start at 58 & boost reference to the pressure side of the inlet tubing. You cannot reference to the intake as engine vacuum lowers the idle pressure & will cause the transfer to stop functioning.

Typically, I recommend a large injector & running a fixed 58psi with no boost reference in these applications. This is the easiest approach as long as you calculate the injector size properly.

OK, thanks. Plan is this (back to front):

Your pumps
-8 feed line to Aeromotive 12335 Fuel Filter
-8 to Y-block then -8 to rails
-8 from rails to Aeromotive 13101 Regulator A1000
-6 return

HP expected to be around 550-600, injectors are FAST 65#, car is drag race only.

see any glaring issues?

thanks Lonnie!

Should have no problems at that power level.

Not sure what injector that is....
Is it rated 65# at 43.5psi?

Not sure of the rating, its a F.A.S.T. injector, part number 30657.

You are. Boost referenced FPR. Anything above 60psi base fuel pressure on a boost referenced FPR car and the 044 is better

Fast for the LS2/3/7 rate theirs at a 58psi so it makes it easier to compare without using any math.

I'm happy everyone is being helped but as a result this thread has gone far off topic.

I am sure that once these things get out there, that the fuelie guys, as well as quite a few of the big names, will have more info. I think we would like to get a few in here to see what they will do. If I get any in, I will keep this thread updated.

Simple solution to that, lower the base fuel pressure then....... no need for a ton of pressure when the car's idling/putting around....

Hell we've done cars with the base pressure in 40 lb range... they run fine.

What you need to be sure of is that you get a pump with the factory style venturi design so it works properly. I'm not sure this will be an option with this pump. If so great...

The issue that most are missing here is if you do not need a pump this big, why worry about it. Remember pumps do not make ANY horse power, they only support what the engine is capable of. Your 550bhp is not an issue with any good 255 pump.

For reference, the stock pump in an LS1 f-body will typically support 500 crank HP. I've seen many stock ProCharged cars (which are rated at 540 crank) with a stock pump. But I've also seen many need a pump upgrade.

I'm still waiting to get my hands on one of these new 340's to test it out & see if they live up to all the hype.
Good deal then.. I'll leave it alone until I need the bigger pump.

Thank you..

On cars with very high boost we have lowered base pressure even further with good results.
If you have a system that can adequately support a higher base level + the cooresponding boost, is there any atomization benefit running the higher pressures?

None that I was ever able to prove. I ran my own car with as low as 30# base fuel pressure & up to 60# with no measurable difference in power.

And when you do... I hope you post up your findings, there is a 8.1 bucket that I am getting ready to upgrade (well have you upgrade)

If you have a GTO, I want your GTO bucket not an 8.1 bucket for dual pumps... You can sell the 8.1 to someone else.

If you want more than the duals can provide, I can also do a triple pump for the GTO as well. Give me a call if you want to disccuss the build in more detail.

I'm still curious also. Get a 2nd 044 or go dual Aeromotive 340s...

From what I've heard, $175 and should be shipping by early February.
