Default Cheap fuel filters and regulators

im in the process of planning out a fuel system for a turbo build. I already have an external A1000. Does anybody have any luck running ebay/cheap inline fuel filters and/or regulators?

How are the russell and fragola fuel accessories? I would like to stay budget oriented but still maximize my dollar value. I just cant see spending around $500+ for aeromotive filters and regulators unless its a huge discrepancy in perfomance.

thanks

I have a china stainless filter, and an aeromotive regulator. I also did all ebay line and fittings for my -8AN setup. Not one has leaked or otherwise given me an issue.

Stock truck rail mounted regulator is awesome. I use that whenever I can. Otherwise I usually spring for something like the Aeromotive 13129. I haven't done much with ebay regulators.

For inline filters, the $60 ones from Summit are nice, and spin-on filters are better if you want to go through the hassle of building a system around them. Stay FAR away from those small ebay inline filters that use like a brass filter medium. I have one fall apart almost instantly on me.

Btw, pretty much everyone here will tell you an A1000 is junk. Its a 20+ year old fuel pump with a spectacular failure rate.

I have read several posts stating this about the A1000. I just happen to already have a brand new one sitting around and figured it could save me $4-500 that could possible be better spent elsewhere. You would suggest a 4303 im assuming?!

Thanks for the link. I am planning on going a similar route. I think i will definitely go with ebay fuel rails and lines/fittings.

This build here:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...-75-build.html

used a name brand company for a "fuel line kit" and it was very expensive. Once i got it in my hands it was no different then my ebay stuff. Needless to say for what he paid, we were extremely disappointed. It did work fine, but was way over-priced for what it was.

You haven't stated goals or anything. Any real suggestions at this point are a shot in the dark.

I dont think he is asking what size stuff to run, more of what brands can be had that are decent for the money.

Correct. Mainly good value brands that aren’t top dollar like aeromotive, magnafuel, etc, but not sacrificing reliability. It may end up being that I need to spend the extra money for top of the line, but I’d at least like to weigh my options first

As far as goals go, I’d like to run high 8s/ low 9s with sub 3000 lb race weight. It’ll be an LQ9 with 80-84mm chinese turbo with Holley efi. I can’t imagine making over 700-750 rwhp anytime in the near future

With a goal of low 9s, I would probably just run an AEM 380 (Technically the AEM 400 now). 4303 is way overkill unless you're going to run E85.

I've got a magnafuel 4450 that I'd let go for $400 bucks. Brand new, never mounted. PM if interested.

I havent quite decided yet whether im going to run e85 or just pumpgas with water/meth injection. Everything is still in the very early, planning stages of the build. And obviously i would like to have a fuel system that would give me some upward mobility. i just dont want my fuel system to be a limiting factor if i were to go with a more aggressive setup in the future.

Lots of people do smaller return lines, I did equal feed and return for 2 reasons, one it makes ordering hose/fittings easier since everything is the same size, and 2 more return volume is easier on the pumps.
