Default Too big of injectors?

I've got a 5.3 out of a 2012 Tahoe that I added a 76mm turbo to. I'm targeting 600-650hp.

I purchased 80lb/hr injectors and had some issues. I took them to be flow traded and cleaned and they are looking to be 95lb/hr instead.

Is that too big for my application? It will be a street truck, very little track time.

That's because the 80PPH flow is at 3 bar pressure. The LS type engines run at 4 bar. Thus the increased flow.
Want them to be 80's? Turn the relief down.
650 at the wheels? I'd start with what you have, and tune from there.

What @Old Geezer Said. You can still use them, just have to compensate and tune for them.

80's, 95's etc aren't too big at all for a turbo 5.3. I ran 160's with a 76mm and 210's with a larger turbo. How they react is all in the tune.

What is the lowest fuel pressure that I can run? I've heard 40 is the minimum, but wasn't sure.

I just got the injectors back and they ran them at 55psi and they were at 95.85 lb/hr, so that is 82.6 lb/hr at 40 psi.

Assuming you have a boost referenced regulator you could go down to 40 but really not all that different from 43.5 people typically run.

Correct, 40psi is the minimum. Anything below is a No Go.

Please explain. The injectors will open at any pressure that is lower than they were designed for. the only difference would be the spray pattern, or lack of it. At that point they would be similar to a bad carb setup, but would still work. The idle and transients would be horrible, but no reason to give a hard nogo.

I have a feeling that, "for best results, keep it at or above 40psi".

Exactly. For best atomization from the injector, it needs to be at a minimum of 40psi. Anything below, results in a poor spray pattern and not so great atomization. Therefore causing the injector to not perform as it should and will lead to poor combustion.
