Default Racetronix 32# best injectors for LS1?

I plan to make ~425rwhp from my H/C LS1 and want to keep my injector duty cycle well below 90% on the stock fuel pump and pressure. For this reason I would like upgrade from my stock 28.8# to something larger. The SVO 30# seem to be the most popular but I found this very disturbing old post:

The 30# SVO injectors (that I installed a year ago) are much longer from the "O" ring back into the fuel rail than a stock unit, so much so that the Ford injectors are rubbing against the metal on the backside of the rail. This is a VERY bad thing and could prevent fuel from getting to the injector and/or cause it to overheat and lock. The shorter GM injectors fit properly and would not be a problem.

So if you are running Ford injectors you might have a problem. I had an SVO 30# injector fail and take a piston with it - while road racing, and running at high speeds for a sustained period. Probably would never have been a problem in around town driving.
I am now looking at the Delphi 32# from Racetronix. Does anyone have feedback on these? Are they a better match to the GM computer and fuel rail than the SVO 30#? Are there good mail-order tunes for the 32#? Obviously they flow enough for the power my engine will make.

Thanks

According to my calculations, for a 420 rwhp engine, Delphi 36# will get you closer to 80% duty cycle, which is a very, very sweet spot for fuel injectors....easy to tune, and no idle problems.

Edit: Remember, GM stockers and aftermarket injectors are rated at different pressures (3 and 4 bar) so for example: delphi/lucas 30# at 3 bar is equvalent to 35# at 4 bar. Industry standard gets rated at 3 bar....

So would 42lb be better for 450 plus?

Those numbers sound great to me, but isn't the next step up from 32# in Lucas/Delphi a 37#? Not trying to split hairs but is there a 36# injector?

I know Accel and CPR make nice 36# injectors. I've used them both. Bosch has 36's also.

For what your'e after, I'd go with a set of 36's. That'll keep you around 80% now and you'll have some room to grow for future mods.

You're right...next step ia 37# and you should always increment UP to the closest match...get 37# - I know i will...I'll be doing H/C swap myself soon, and 37# Delphi is what I'll get....

These sound like a great option! Are they dimensionally idential to the stock 28.8# LS1 injectors?

so would this pump be good enough to flow what I need on a 415HP H/C setup on 28lb'ers along with maybe an NX MAF plate wet kit spraying around 150 shot?

Thought I would need injectors but sounds like the pump is my next bottleneck.

How hard is it to install one of these? I mean I did the H/C myself (with issues) but for some reason working with fuel give me the creeps.

If you can handle a H/C install a fuel pump is easy. Just take your time and use common sense. If you run into a problem stop and ask.

The fuel pump comes with instructions on how to install it into the module. The removal of the tank is something that is covered in the G.M. manual.

ok.. so it sounds pretty easy. Will I be good to 650 or so with this pump? If I replace it to run a wet kit on top of the H/C I don't want to have to mess with it again.

I've been reading for the last hour but found mixed results mostly due to regulator issues? Do I need one of those as well for this type of shot?

If you want to keep your rail pressure stable then you will need to install a FM FPR and a BAP to increase the pump's (voltage) volume. Depending on your N2O setup and motor's BSFC you may or may not be on the edge at 650-700RWHP. There is always the option of a DP system if you want to be 100% sure.
