Whats your mpg?
Hey guys, just wanna get some ideas of what everyone else is getting mpg-wise. State whether u have the v6 or 8 and what your mpg is around. Im doing this because I feel that mine is pretty shitty, being that I have a v6 and im only getting about 20 mpg

2001 Z28.. 2.73 gear mods in sig.. I average 18mpg 50/50 highway and traffic. I pulled 25mpg on the power tour last year an 26 during a trip to STL from chicago earlier this year. 2.73 gear though at 70mph I'm at 1800 rpm..lol!
My 3.4l v6 I used to have got around 21 mpg in the same 50/50 mix with a 3.73 gear in there.
I think the estemated average MPG for the 3.8l v6's was around 23mpg. so if you are doing a lot of slow driving in traffic and/or have a heavy foot 20mpg is probably about right.

I have a 2004 GTO and I get 13.5 or less on 100% city driving (stop and go, surface streets,) 13.7 this past week when I really babied it. On 100% highway driving, I get 26.
When I did my homework prior to purchasing the car this past April, based on EPA mileage estimates and polling some LS1 owners at work, I projected 15 or 16 in town, which is what I would find satisfactory.
I find the 13 very disappointing and really the ONLY negative about an otherwise outstanding car. Any suggestions on what might be wrong? The car is stock from a performace standpoint, with the only mods being window tint, skip-shift and B&M shifter.
I'd appreciate any help.
Best regards,
Jeff T.
