The injector flow table. You have to tell the computer that the injectors are flowing more than stock (are larger). If I remember right, when I went to 36 lb injectors, I put the table at 130%.

What you do is see what size injector you had stock:

ex: 28 lb

compare that to the new injectors:

ex: 42 lb

see what % 42 is of 28 (42 lbs devided by 28 lbs)

42/28 = 1.5 (150%)

As I see it, you would go into the injector table and multiply all the values by 150%. This will "tell the computer" how much larger your injectors are.

If I am mistaken in any part of this, PLEASE!!! someone jump in here and let me know. I am by no means a "master tuner" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> .

I was searching for something like this, but this thread never really took off. Is this the correct way to tune for an injector swap. It seems to easy... What about other perameters such as injector offset and PE vs RPM tables. Any need to tune in those areas?
Thanks, Ryan

Injector offset is good to change also. It tells the computer how much time it takes to open the injector. you will have to dig around for that. I got most of my information from the LT1edit lists.

So could the injector offset vary from one 42lb injector to another 42lb injector depending on who makes it? Or is it going to be pretty much just a size of the injector thing? Is there somewhere that a company will list the time it takes to open their specific injector (injector offset)? If this were left stock would it pretty much make it like a lower pulse width because it is not giving it enough time to open the larger injector up all of the way?

fwiw i have 42# svos and a stock offset table with no idle/startup/driveability issues so i havent worried about changing it.

Some of the 42 lb are quite a bit slower than stock 30% or so. The 50 lb I have take almost 50% slower than stock and idle was a problem. The svo tend to be fairly fast, not too sure on the lucas injectors.

I would put them in and if the injector flow rate is correct and you have idle problem start looking for the offset data.

So injector manufacturer can have a huge difference in offset for the same sized "flow rate". It all depends of the design.

I have the 42# svo injectors too. The stock offset table worked fine, but had high ltrims that I had to adjust for in the flow rate table. After trying an offset table I got from GeorgeC, my flow rate table is now much closer to where it should be, and I've picked up a few more mpg, however I had to use the stock table in the idle area. Still playing with it, but it's too hard to work with on a testing basis.
