Default Stock 26lb injectors at 113% duty cycle

I have a 230's cam, milled heads, fast 90/90 and it made 413 on a mustang dyno that seems to read pretty low.

Which injectors do you guys suggest? Would the 30lb fords be sufficient?

It would be nice if I could run the 30lb since I already have a script to run for them in efi live.

Would my stock injectors being at 113% duty cycle be limiting my hp potential?

Thanks!

Being that your are commending 113% DC from your injectors, you are way out of injectors. The injectors can only supply 100% (always open), beyond that the ECM is requesting more fuel. Yes, the red top SVO 30# would work very well with your setup.

How much power do you think you are leaving on the table if the logs show 118-119%? That is what mine are at now.

honestly, if you plan on doing more to your car, I would go ahead and invest in at least 36#ers or bigger... if you want to determine your new duty cycle at those new injectors...let me dig up my injector sheet and I can share with you how to calculate it. its a simple calculation..just at work right now and don't exactly remeber it

Have to be careful with that. Injectors, like engines, perform best within an opperating range respective to the type of injector being used.

As an oversimplified rule of thumb, an injector running 80%DC at WOT and max engine RMP is properly sized. If you are planning to use a larger injector to support future mods on your current setup, I wouldn't go any larger than an injector that runs 60% DC @ WOT @ max RPM.

The larger the injector, the more difficult it can be to control it at low PW's...

How are so many people getting their heads/cam cars tuned with stock injectors? What are these shops telling you that you have to ask if you're out of injector at over 100% duty cycle?

If you go heads/cam and do not plan on running a dry shot or bigger cubes in the future. Buy some SVO 30#'s.

If you think you'll be hitting it with a dry shot, bigger cubes (370-408+), or very light boost, go 42#'s.

Big dry shot or moderate boost, 60#'s.

Why don't we have a sticky with this information? I've answered a question with this reply like 5 times in the last week.

It wouldn't do any good as most of us can't read.

Seriously, everyone thinks "their" situation is different and starts a thread "just in case" they get a different answer then has been given five times by members like you in the last few days.

If I see one more "guess my RWHP" or "Pick the best cam for me" thread I'm gonna puke.

Sorry, I'm off topic. Running a calculator I'd guess you at around 530 FWHP which is gonna put you closser to 36lb ford type injectors. The 30s are still gonna be around 88% DS. Way better than where you are but no room to grow.

Its not even like this board moves that fast! Most of those threads are still on the first page!

Okay..on topic..

I agree with you. 30#'s leave you with NO room to grow if you have a healthy heads/cam setup. I wish I wasn't advised to buy the 30#'s over the 38#'s when I asked the local shop right before I went in there for my dyno tune. Not like it mattered because they wouldn't have worked for the D1SC, but it would've allowed me to set up a 100 dry shot last year instead of the 100 wet I had to run. Needless to say, since then, I've learned a LOT about fuel systems for these cars.

Default 60 lb injectors on my 99 frc????

I have a non-z06 and have a 90/90 intake and zo6 heads and cam. I am putting a dry shot on it soon and was wanting to upgrade my injectors. I have purchased some 60lb for a TT setup I have parts to but not all of yet. Can I run my 60's w/o a problem w/o my TT setup for now?

As you don't seem to need the 60lb injectors now and will have to tune the PCM to install them I would not worry about it until you install the TT system and have to have them. Only exception would be if you don't have enough DS left for the dry shot. What injectors are you currently running?
