Exclamation Just changed my fuel filter

Man was there some junk in my fuel filter . The fuel filter had less than 20k miles on it (10k is what you are supposed to change it at ) and to my surprise it had a black look to it . I knew it would be dirty but it makes me want to change more often .

When I took it off just to try and see what was in there I had took an old white rag and tapped it out . The gas that came out was pretty dirty with a dark tinit to it . Going to let it dry out then I am going to cut it open just for ***** and giggles .

The bird uses 93 octane all day most of the time from shell . I guess moral of the story folks is to keep up with your changes . Just thought I would share with yall .
Be easy !

dang, mine really will need changed then. Ive owned it since 85k miles and it now has 122k and i have never chaged it. Its probably an easy job right?? Can you just get a new one from oreilly's??? Does is matter how much gas is actually in the car before you do this??? thanks.

changing the fuel filter is easy as hell. Its on the passenger side near the rear tire. All you do is disconnect it and put the new one in, its a fat little cylinder. Some fuel will spill out because the line is pressurized, but not much.

you can pop the gas cap open and relieve some of the pressure built up in the tank. it wont spill as much fuel this way. simple job though, reminds me i need to do mine.

Its not going to like empty the tank when you do it, no matter how full the tank is. just a little will spray out. You can clean it up with a rag.

I don't know about your car, but my filter is on the drivers side. But still easy to locate and easy to change.

you can also (after opening the gas cap) relieve the pressure on the fuel rails and that will help with the fuel from splashing while your down under
