Default 9'' rear installed vibration

Installed a moser 9'' and I have a vibration now at higher speeds well only took it to around 55-60 but it starts there it vibrates worse on decel. When I placed the order I ordered a stock length driveshaft well it definetly sticks out of the tailshaft more then the old one and im assuming that is the vibration. So I want to see if anyone has another insight b4 I send this thing away. The trans is a 4l80e which didnt have any vibration b4 the rear swap. The rear suspension is just a moser/ford 9'' with the umi tunnel mount adjustable tq arm everything else control arms and panhard bar are stock.

Grab ahold of the trans slip yoke and try moving it up & down. You shouldn't feel any movement at all......any slop at all and that's likely your vibration, not seated far enough into the slip yoke bushing. Same thing happened to me after installing a moser 9", longer DS fixed it.

It is hanging out of the trans a good bit ill try pushing up and down it when I get under the car to remove the d's so I can send it out that should be the problem atleast from what I gather on here. From what I read on here an inch should make the vibration go away and it seems to be out about an inch maybe 1 1/2 I know normally alittle hangs out but this is way to much. Thanks.

Default Vibration!

Hello
With the rear end run your pinion angle at 0 degrees sounds like you have too much pinion angle. If you have any other questions leave me know and I will be glad to help
Thanks

Can you measure the overall length of your yoke at the rear?

Yeah either way the driveshaft is defiently hanging out of the trans about an inch more then then when I had the stock 10 bolt so its defiently short once I have the correct length driveshaft I will set the pinion angle at 0. Do I just set a angle finder on the bottom of the housing? Iam going to measure the driveshaft from tailhousing to yoke and see what it is the driveshaft is defiently short and from what ive read on here an inch seems to make the vibration stop and my driveshaft is hanging out of the trans about an inch more then it was b4.

Default Hello

Hello,
When you set the pinion angle set the angle finder on the torque arms bracket that mounts to the rear end! If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be glad to help.
Thanks

I would adjust your pinion angle to a -2, which is where we run them. This could be where your vibration is coming from. If the pinion angle does not take care of it, a one inch longer driveshaft will more than likely take care of your vibration problems. Bob

Good info, definitely some stuff I wouldn't have thought of. I've got a similar problem, except mine doesn't start till around 120+mph.
