Default S60 floor pan clearance

Hey, u guys running S60 rear ends...

Did you have any issues with the fitment under the stock floorpan?
Any banging/ rubbing?

I'm seriously considering this rear for my car. It will be lowered 1~1.5 inches.

Thanks

Had no clearance issues at all! And mine is lowered on Sportlines so you should be good with whatever you have! But my rear suspension is all adjustable so that helped in centering it without problems too!

I have a s60 with bmr lowering springs. I'm also running a umi tunnel mounted torque arm. Mine rubs on the drivers side driveshaft tunnel. I'm also running an adj panhard, so it is centered as good as I can get it. I have heard some people use a large prybar and "clearance" the floor pan so it clears.

What exactly is it that rubs the differential itself or the torque arm rear mounting bracket? The bracket to my Spohn torque arm would run so I grinded it a bit.

The torque arm upper bracket rubs. I plan on cutting the bracket down as in this post to get everything to clear.

The S60 is a huge rear end, the housing is massive and most people don't realize this. I run one personally and like it, for the size of it the fit is great. Since the housing is larger the torque arm does sit closer to the tunnel area and will require come "clearancing" with a hammer. A lowered car is the worst.

Other than that there should be no issues.

Ryan,

My setup is lowered. I have clearanced the tunnel with a large prybar. It has also "self clearanced" itself a bit too. It is still rubbing and I have my phb adjusted as good as possible. Do you recommend that I trim the upper torque arm plate so I can use the other set of bolt holes?

thanks

I have no isolater, and cut I think Im up to 1.5 coils? the 28's are level, should be 27.75 to the fender lip, and the rearend clears. I addded some more room with the pry bar for the upper bolt head on the TA, but I don't think that was really hitting. I"ve seen cars its made a big notch even a cut both 9' setup. So did the prybar dent a little just to be safe.
I have a older R/T TA and cut the outisde pattern off, and running the TA in on ther inside holes. I don't run bumpstops, and never had the housing or TA hit that I can tell.

Studderin,

Thanks for the info. Mine is a umi dual pattern ta. I plan on trimming the upper bracket and switching bolt holes for more clearance. The noise it makes when hitting bumps is annoying. With the bracket trimmed, the prybar, and the self clearancing that already took place I should be good.

Yes I do. This is why we supply two sets of mounting holes... the inner set makes a big difference in this situation.

Hope that helps!

Did this over the weekend. It worked out great. The Torque Arm is a much tighter to the driveshaft, but still clears.

what setup uses the outer hole? I always thougth it was just gimick, and PITA to work with.

when you get the rearend, fit the TA bracket BEFORE you install the rearend

way easier. to trim the outer hole pattern off.
