Default Got my 8.8 Housing Finished Today

just thought I would post a few pic's of my weekend project, im doing a 8.8 ford swap in my 02 camaro SS. heres a pic of the axle tube's welded to the ford housing.

I'm doing the mini four link setup and diching the torque are, we could have gotten it in today but it started to rain just as the paint was dry, not to bad for a day and a half's work. I will post more pic's when it goes in the car, sould be tomorrow.

Looks good! I am hoping to do the same either later this year or over the winter to go in the car for next spring.

I was not even thinking of that

Mine is in the finishing steps of the 8.8 conversion. I gave into the Explorer rear end since it had 31-spline axles and locker. the pain in that is the pinion is moved over to the passenger side about 2" I may just head back to the bone yard and get a mustang 8.8 and swap the guts

We got it in the night before last, i am completly floored with the results, you would never know the torque arm was gone. and before anyone messages me i did fix the bolt and i was adjusting the uppers when this picture was taken and the sway bar will be back on tonite.

Judging from the pics the pinion angle needs to be adjusted to a negative position like -2.5 possibly -3

x2 looks to be on the positive side

I was messing with the pinion angle when the pics were taken ive got it set at -2 right now im gonna try -3 in the morning.

the 7.5 tubes are pressed about 3 inches into the 8.8 tubes, then just welded and grinded them down

How did you manage to keep the tubes true and straight before welding? so the car did not walk or dog leg down the track? also what did you end up doing for axles?
