i have preety much the same thing as you,and drive on the street mostly with a little track use.I went with a midwest chassis 9" rear,it comes with a diesel torque arm,DS safety loop, and a few other things you wont get anywhere else.I went with 410 gears and a track lok posi with the billet cover, aluminum center section.Should be all ya need, plus a nice driveshaft which is 400 bucks pst 3.5" aluminum.

At your power level the 12 bolt should last but to be honest Ive seen people break them and if your going to buy new then I would just go with a 9 inch. If you find a good deal on a used 12 bolt then go for that.
BTW are you up in ft. Pierce? I live in Port St. Lucie and I just got a good score on a ford 9 inch. It will be going in after June 1st sometime. If ya want Ill pm ya when I get it in and we can go for a ride so you can check it out.

i have a moser 9" in my car at the same power level, the true trac, is a great differential for the street, but its not a fan of the track, bob is trying to get me to buy a trac loc, so you should buy one and tell me if it holds

Yea That would be great I live in FTP but go to PSL often. I also know joe and hang outy with him. Believe it or not my clutch actually has been slipping lately, I bought 2 nittos 555r's for the rears and done a couple of 3000+ dumps on the street the stock 10 bolt held up pretty good but clutch has about 40,000 miles on it.

No problem man. I just did my clutch in my SS over the winter. I did a Monster stg 3 and love it. The more you beat it the better it works. I will pm you or just talk to Joe and we can set something up next month after I get my rear installed
As far as weight goes yeah it does weigh more if you get a regular 9 inch housing. If you get the FAB 9 it weighs a little more but not too much. The way I see it is my car is a full weight street car so a 20 or 30 lbs isnt going to bother me as long as I know I have a bullet proof drivetrain. Look foward to meeting you finally.

I'll say stay way away from a 12 bolt. I have a MWC fabbed 9" coming for mine as well- supposed to be here today. I paid just over 3K for the fab nine- spool- iron center section- 4.30's- 35 spline axles- long T/A- Trans x-member/mount- and a stell PST driveshaft. when you figure I spent 2600 shipped for a 12 bolt- then 350 for a BMR T/A...The fab 9 package is a no brainer, IMHO.

Check out the Moser M9, which weighs the same as the 10 bolt does.

Depending on how much power you plan on staying with I would just do a 12-bolt. You don't really track the car that much.
If you plan on running more power or getting to the track more often I would do a dana60 or 9' there great but a little on the heavy side
And if money isn't an issue and you want the baddest, lightest drag rear end avail go with either the MWC Fab 9 or a Moser Fab 9 from bob(brute speed). They should both be comparable performance n price
Hope your happy with whatever you choose, good luck

Snake skinner- will do. It took about 10 drag passes with mediocre 1.75 60' times on 315-17 DR's to send my 12 bolt into a whining tizzy...I mean can't hold a conversation at 55+mph. I've read many, many stories, since I bought mine, of this happining on 6 speed cars.
Just talked to Jason MWC- they are running little behind, I should be recieving mine early next week.
