Nice man. Your car runs hard. I have 4.10's waiting to go in mine. Can't wait.

The acceleration with the 4.10s is downright violent, even when it was a bolt-on car...NOW!!!

I'm getting ready to order a set for myself. I figured it would pull alot harder. I was wondering what kind of gas mileage to expect in 6th on the interstate. About what RPMs are you all running?

And also from the sounds of it I might want to wait for a 12 bolt or 9"? I really dont want to tear the rear end out of my car lol.

It WILL pull alot harder. Mileage will be affected slightly but well worth the tradeoff in performance. I believe rpms are around 2k @ 75 mph

I have some 4.10s waiting but have been afraid of putting them in the ol 10 bolt. I might go ahead and do it anyway. What brand gears?

I just got done putting in some GM 4.11's in exchange for the 3.42's. Love the 4.11 gear ratio! Keeps me in that powerband all the time and pulls like a mother!

I rec going with GM gears..mine are nice and quiet w/ zero whine.

sweet! thanks dave this helped me out. I'm considering getting 390's for my car.

So what is your rpm redline?

What gear did you cross the 1/4 in with the 3.42 vs. 4.10?

thanks

The difference in 3.90 vs 4.10 is so minor. About 5% 100-125 RPM difference. I've driven both and 4.10/4.11 is the way to go

+1 on a GM brand gear and 4.11 over a 3.90. Such a small difference so why not put yourself in that prime power band

I actually got a good condition 10 bolt free this last time LOL. If you can put it together yourself its not so bad, its the headache of the labor. But yeah you would think at somewhere around 5 rears you could have yourself a billy badass 9", 12 bolt or a Dana 60

Then again if it wasn't a stick car the rear end count would be like 1-2 lol. I still blew mine being an auto but it was a stupid failure, didnt break the gears or axles, one of the bolts that holds the factory zexel torsen diff together broke while driving to lunch one day and took out the whole damn rear, housing and rear end cover included

The motive gear is what I usually order. The gear I have now was supposedly a motive gear, when ordered from ebay, but the box was completely black and said nothing about it being motive anywhere in the instructions. Ebay Either way, they are some of the quietest gears I've had...for now.
I know I could've had a 12 bolt for what I've spent in these gears. It was never my intention to go this far with this car. My lt1 is the 1 I prefer to race. M6s are just so violent and abusive to rear ends.

I wonder how my car would react to some 4.10's? I have 3.23's right now from when I went from A4-M6. It's really high geared.
