Default Need input on building a 9"

Got a 9" out a 77 f100 going in a 02 camaro. I measured axle flange to axle flange on both 9" and stock rearend. 9" is 1" longer than stock i think i can deal with that any doubt please correct me. Anyone did this before input can be useful!! Thanks

I am thinking about doing this myself. What kind of rims and tires are you going to be running? Bolt pattern is going to be wrong. You would have to have axels made so why not make the housing the same width as stock. That would be my plan.

If you are looking at making it fit to your vehicle we can get you into the proper housing ends and all our laser cut brackets. They will need to be welded onto the housing of course. We can also get you set up with axles. If you want to go the next step we also offer our bolt in torque arm and cross member with the weld on tabs for the housing. This takes some fabrication and welding skills but this is something we have sold many that are building their own rear end.

Because i dont think it would be worth cuttin an half inch off of each side to make it to stock width. My wheels are 17x10 with 275 40 mt street and they tucked in a good bit so i think it would be ok.

If the housing is 1 inch longer on each side then you are either going to have to shorten it or run rims with 8.5 inches of backspacing...im not sure if anyone makes rims with that much backspacing.

The stocky is 64 1/2" and the 9" i have is 65 3/8" and this is not housing meas. This is axle flange to axle flange measurements. So it is 7/8" longer than the stock to be exact.
