Not just articles. I went 11.80 on my 10 bolt, put the 9" in went 11.79 which I thought wouldn't happen. Gear selection, weight, ease of setup, parts offerings are also things that favor the 9".

I think this is what Carl is trying to point out that is just not true. yes the S60 weights more but the 9" uses more HP to turn. I don't think either of those points are worth being mentioned when comparing them.
it will be more about price and what rear fits your specific needs.
do you need to swap centers a lot for track days or different tracks? (9")
Price? are you a 3 or 4 channel? and so on

What are you in debate about? I don't even know what an S60 runs for price right now. Does it come with a torque arm? Does the driveshaft length need changed. I know with my MWC I got everything needed including the clips for brake lines to just slap it in. Used the stock DS with a 1" longer yoke and couldn't have been easier.

i also have been going back and forth but it seems like it's about the same money for both even after you get a shortened shaft for the s60. I think I'm going to go with the s60 because i like that the ta mount is actually part of the housing

I installed an S60 in my Z. Haven't had a chance to "abuse" it, but I'm sure it will handle it with no problem. One of the best thing I liked is how easy it was to install. Bolts right in like stock. Good luck with your decision.

I have been going through the same debate but I can tell you I would only consider the MWC 9inch and S60 after I have seen 2x Moser rears apart and the materials that were used I will NEVER have a Moser rear in my car!!

They are all great choices really, what it comes down to is budget. We are direct with Strange and Moser and the S60 the Moser 9" and the MWC Fabricated Nine Inch all run real close in price if you figure in the fact ours comes with a torque arm, and one you do not have to use a bulky bracket to mount up. Another nice feature the S60 and the MWC housing has is the factory style sway bar mounts and ours also comes with these features at no extra charge, drain plug, 4 hole relocator style lca brackets, brake hose mounts and e-brake brackets(98-02).
At the end of the day you have to look at what can fit into your budget and what company will be around for the long haul to help you out beyond the sale. Good luck with your purchase as there are plenty here to help take care of you and have a bunch of great knowledge.

I've got an S60 and I love it. I got it from Eric at MWC. He and I talked it over and the S60 just seemed to fit my goals/budget better. It bolted up very easily and fits like GM designed it as an option. Yes, the driveshaft needs to be changed, but it's not like it's expensive. As a matter of fact, I got my rearend with every option (except new brakes) and a new driveshaft for cheaper than ANY other complete rearend. I'm thinking the driveshaft was only a few hundred bucks, and it's strong enough to race on all day long without worrying about it. If you're using the stock aluminum driveshaft with a 9" on the street then you'll probably be fine. If you're turning some serious 60' times at the track then you'll eventually break it. It's a little bit like getting a gunsafe with a screen door on it. A quality driveshaft should be in your budget if your goal is to make the drivetrain stronger, or you'll eventually find yourself stranded.
And for those people worried about it "eating" more horsepower, that's a ridiculous argument. If your car is going to stop winning races because you lost a few horsepower then by that logic it's not making enough power to need an S60. It's a dana 60 with 35 spline axles. They were designed for cars making a ton of power that need to take constant abuse. Rest assured that this is a rear end that you can abuse the CRAP out of on the street. With a monster clutch, S60, and sticky tires, you had better be more concerned about your t56 tailshaft.
I haven't taken my car to the track to see the results, but it sure does feel better on the street. All the extra weight that comes with this rear end is in the right spot. My car hooks better for sure, and I'm 100% satisfied... plenty of room to grow into it with more power.
