Yukons are made and distributed by Randys and Pinion and there not all that new anymore. Its a good gear when setup correctly and pretty much noise free.

There aren't any more of them left. I bought out all their remaining inventory last summer in the 3.50 to 4.11 range and the next production run won't be available until may or june.

I just bought a 3.75 Yukon set for my 9".

Richmond Excel 3.70's were setup up dead on and started making noise at 10 mph and up, decel too. I didnt even put 10 miles on the car before I turned around, went home and pulled the center section out.

Can I ask your break in procedure and how many miles are on them?

They made noise right off the bat. I was told that it could be because they were an odd ratio and were not as mass produced as other regular Ford ratios.

The first time I put the center in I drove the car 5 miles tops with them making noise so, I pulled the center to check the pattern. I did not want to hurt the gears. I never really was able to get a pattern on them that I liked so I should have just sent them back, before I drove on them. They are setup in a Yukon Aluminum threw bolt case as well. So, I thought maybe there was a machining error in the case so I set them up in the factory Ford case and the pattern was the same. After I reinstalled the center and they still made noise I just decided to drive the car. I have driven the car to work and back so they probably have about 70 miles on them now. This is the best pattern I could get out of them. Please feel free to tell me if you see anything wrong because I am about ready to give up. The pictures are with a .025 pinion shim and .010 back lash. The coast would not come off the toe even at .015 back lash. I have always liked Yukons stuff but this has been a bad experience. Also everything else is new, Yukon install kit.

After talking to Moser on the phone yesterday it all made sense.......

That sucks. Before I purchased the tools to setup gears correctly I used to just set them up by feel and center the wear pattern nicely. Even used gears I would do this way and I never had a single problem. But cars were always hot rods and had loud exhaust on them also. Nothing crazy but loud.
Sorry your having such bad luck.

Have you contacted Yukon to ask them about possible warranty?

Here is a good read from their web site.

No not yet, I will tomorrow. I am just ready to get the whole deal about it not being installed right and all that crap. But I will give it a try and see what they say.

The coast side is still an acceptable pattern though, even though its not centered heel to toe. It is center face to flank. The coast is not making noise either...

Moser said that all the gears being made right now are junk and they have to deal with this all the time, and that if I was going to install an aftermarket gear that I should use Motive performance gear, Orange box. They told me Yukon gears are made in India and that US gear is out of buisness and that if you buy a US gear right now it will be made in China.

Here is what is going in it now, OE Ford 3.70 from a 1969 F100, 300 6 cyl, and 3 on the tree. Pulled it from the truck this morning....

Looks like they are not going to want to do anything for me at this point. I should have just bought a 3.70.

Straight from Yukon rep....

My rep said, your pattern looks good.
Those gears have a potential to make slight noise.
The 3.70’s would be quiter ( none in stock anyway ), he said.
“ nature of the beast” those 375’s.
