Default Best driveshaft coice?

I have a m6 car just picked up an S60, car makes about 500-550 hp what's the best choice for driveshaft. I've looked at aluminum 3.5" and chrom-moly 3" which is the better choice, and are there clearance issues with the 3.5". thanks for the help.

Strange makes a couple different Drive shafts for your application. 3" C/M with heavy duty u-joints and two different yokes to choose from. What are some details of your vehicle?

It's a LT1 M6 heads, cam, all bolt on stuff, longtubes 150 shot, just got the S-60 with true-trac and 3.73's all suspension's done spohn and bmr. I have tranny mounted bmr torque arm and driveshaft loop, I know the stock driveshaft is a tight fit with the exhaust just wondering if aluminum 3.5" would fit without clearance issues, or if I should just go with 3" c/m.

3.5 AL is lighter than the 3" cm and stronger, and since it is performance you're after you don't want to turn more weight, do you ?

If the stock drive shaft is a tight fit then a 3.5 will definitely be a tight fit.

The PST 3.5" aluminum driveshaft with the stronger forged yoke is a great way to go. Here is a link to it. http://shop.brutespeed.com/PST-3-1-2...Driveshaft.htm

The PST 3" steel driveshaft is heavier, but with the stronger forged yoke it is also a good way to go if you are limited on funds. Here is a link to it. http://shop.brutespeed.com/PST-3-Ste...ST-3-Steel.htm Bob

Chromoly. Its stronger than aluminum and its very light. You can get them directly from Strange ready to bolt in with upgraded u-joints(Spicer series) for around $250.

Exactly... my Strange is chromoly AND has the Spicer u-joints AND has Strange forged yoke. I tell ya... it's a piece of artwork and it's a shame it's buried under the car...
