I'd actually around an inch longer drive shaft. It's recommended.

Idk about part numbers but you should be able to get one at any speed shop. I have a competition engineering one for example. I believe you just need a 1310-1350 conversion u-joint.

Conversion U-Joint - Stock 3R to 1350
SKU # E-U3R1350
Price: $43.50

From Spohn

I had to get a new drive shaft made up after my 9" install. If I remember right is was 46" long. I don't know what factory length is.

I'd still spend the cash and get a PST drive shaft. Didn't really notice a difference over the stock Aluminum DS in my car. Maybe 1 or 2 pounds heavier.

you get what you pay for on some of those U-Joints though. I can't say from personal experience though.

The correct Precision number is 447 and the one we use. Now keep in mind your drive shaft does end up short when doing this swap. However for a DD style vehicle we have not had to many issues. For drag race application we do not recommend doing this though because of the simple fact you are pulling the yoke out of the transmission housing by that much and it is not getting proper engagement.

The cost of buying the proper drive shaft once can save you hundreds in damages later.

The neapxo 2-1153 can be had at discount for about 25 bucks and the 447 is stocked at napa that I know of.
