Default here is the pic of the torque arm

Has anyone done this? Probably what was making the clunking sound, but still have to locate where noise came from. Also gears looked fine after opening the diff cover.

What kind of torque arm is it? I have never seen solid torque arm like that.

I think some of the stock M6 cars had trq. arms like that.

Looks like your "solid" stock torque arm has broken from fatigue. That was most likely your noise also. A crack in the material or even slightly loos bolt will cause the noise. Time to switch out to a good one like we manufacture here at MWC. Best features, best quality, best price!

I have seen stock torque arms break approx six inches ahead of the rear on different occasions. This can cause the rear to angle upward and the rear springs can almost fall out of their pockets. The BMR Trak Pak is one of my favorites, here is a link to it.

check your U-joint ,and see if the the rear yoke is loose.
