Rebuilt rear end hold up to slicks?
I just recently broke a stock 10 bolt on a 00 ss the axle came from a junkyard and had 410s and posi and I assume the parts were old so we did a launch on slicks this weekend and broke it so I'm getting it rebuilt with all new parts I was wondering what tires would be best to use without breaking it again because I'm afraid of slicks now lol would the et streets with 3 lines be good or the radial et streets I have a 17 In stock ss rim and a extra set of salad shooter 16s so what would be the best tires for either rims for best traction ?

On a stock 10 bolt, stick with a street tire. Sticky tire = time bomb waiting to happen. Mine survived until last year and only broke because my street tires got sticky enough doing burnouts wearing out the old tires and I took a tooth off the ring gear. Until that point my rear survived life up to and with the turbo's (since 2007) etc. I went to the track (couldn't launch hard but oh well), DD the car in the warmer weather, etc. I was just on BFG KDW tires and had decent traction on the street.

There is no other way around it. The ring/pinion gear of a 10 bolt is just way too small and fragile for any kind of racing. Yes, it will live for your daily driving and such, but at the track with sticky tires, you'll be back to square one in no time. Been there, done that.

What Big Al said. An auto is way easier on a 10 bolt then an m6. Now, as for the slicks you were using. Were they bias ply wrinkle walls? A number of people refer to drag radials as slicks, but they are very unforgiving on 10 bolt's behind a manual trans.
