Et streets and stock 10 bolt
I bought 275/40/17 Micky Thompson ET Streets and I want to put them on my 2000 Trans Am WS6. The only mods I have done are Headers, OR-Y, Corsa Catback, and a SLP lid and bellow. If I put these on and race the car at the track, will I blow my 10 bolt rear end?

Is ur car a M6 or Auto? M6 cars with sticky tires can b a short life expectancy, especially if ur running @ the track w/10 bolt..auto car and i see u have no stall converter u should b okay for a while.

The 10 bolt can break at any time and at any place. One guy on here several years ago said he broke his pulling out of the garage. Bob

Like bob said, some last and some dont. If your car is an auto it will likely last longer. Im running a 10 bolt and had those exact tires on for 2 years, then i went to a stickier m&h tire, and more recently switched to a hoosier 275/60/15. My cars been running 10's and making 600 hp for over 3 years now, last fall was the first time it broke and all I had to do was put a new carrier in it. Ive been lucky, and dont plan on running the 10 bolt forever though.

10 bolt is crap, with that said if your an auto it could last for a lil while, if your a 6 speed car say a prayer before you launch and make sure you have a tow truck on stand by, my advice would be to stay away from stickey tires and hard launches at the track with a 10bolt , or just launch easy
And if ya just search 10 bolt you will find every bit of info you want,

406 SBC first pass ever with car and on small 255 M/T DRs
http://youtu.be/sEr8nU1bXjU
Aftermath of rotating axle opening the door like a can opener. He's lucky it didn't walk up to the glass and go through. I would not even think about running a 7.5 in anything with power.

I don't see him as having anything to worry about.

Ive seen several broke, that being said I've seen them never break with consistent 1.5 sixty foots for several years. Its a gamble for sure. If your car is an auto it should be just fine. But oddly enough it seems some 10 bolts are alot stronger than others lol

Hit and miss. So far, Mine is fine. I have made about 40-50 passes with heads and cam with m/t streets....another 10-20 passes with 150 to 200 shot on 3.90's inside my 10 bolt. Slight hum during deceleration, but holding together so far.
