Default FYI......Ford 8.8 vs 10 Bolt...Weight Difference

I know a lot of people have been curious about the weight difference of the 8.8 and a 10 bolt. A buddy of mine just installed his and put them both on the scale.

FULLY LOADED 8.8 = 164 lbs
FULLY LOADED 10B = 143 lbs

21 lbs difference. Not bad

This is also with a heavy Auburn DIFF, LCA brackets on the 8.8, and a cover. I imagine with a light spool and minus the brackets the difference would be even smaller. This is simply a FYI for the curious...

You are going to have to get in line. I have plenty of haters locally who want a piece of me first.. Now where are you going to put that 8.8 rear to the test again? Like say a 6k rpm launch...?

Yea, where can I get one of these at a good price? Are these as strong as the 12-bolts and 9". I have heard of way too many 12-bolts brreaking lately. Thanks- Mike W. V6Camaro@aol.com
