Default Wavetrac or Eaton Truetrac?

I have heard great things about both. Building a ford 9" for a twin turbo LS and want something that will hold up and not be whiney..
Any experience with the Wavetrac?
Mainly street use.

Truetrac is NOT going to hold up to that. Wavetrac all the way. The one local guy I know of that has one love it. I love my TrueTrac but if I was pushing more than 500 in my M6 or 600 in an auto I wouldn't hesitate in a second to step up. Other option is the S-trac.

What is the S-trac?

The S-trac is a helical gear style diff unit that is made in-house by Strange. It is a preloaded unit that will burn both tires as long as you hold the gas, and has excellent street characteristics. It is a 35 spline unit and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The S-trac diff unit is by far the most popular unit we sell next to a spool. The S-trac diff is a bit lighter and we have never had any failure issues with it. Prices are the same as the Wavetrac unit that is marketed for the 9" rearends solely by Moser.

Give s a call... we are direct with Strange and Moser both and offer the guaranteed lowest price on any component for the 9" rearends, or other rearends for that matter. We can also aid you in installation and suspension tuning if need be with the best tech help available.

Are you referring to the new 5 pinion 35 spline truetrac for 9 inch? It seems like it was designed for severe duty.

Here is my link to the 35 spline Truetrac. It requires a 3.250" case and looks promising to be a differential that can handle a lot of power. I offer it with the Moser rears I sell. Bob

Which of these two have more bias (by ratio), and/or are more geared towards road race/autocross/handling type use which will NEVER see a standing start, even 4000 rev clutch drop launch, on sticky drag tires???
(My guess would be the Wavetrac, no?)

The Wavetrac is available in 31 spline, not sure if the S-trac is though. For a corner burner 31 spline axles help keep the weight down.

I LOVED my 35 spline Wavetrac.. it was like driving on a stock 10 bolt you couldn't even tell it was back there. Can't beat a lifetime warranty either.

The Wavetrac is also a great way to go. It is more expensive than the Truetrac but it does come with a lifetime warranty. Bob

Huh, been searching for the same info for a little bit... it's funny, this is the only thread I've found that isn't full of "I broke my wavetrac and never had a problem with a truetrac."

Looks like we have a couple of dealers answering in this thread. If any of you sell 2 or all 3 (wavetrac, truetrac and s trac), what are you seeing WRT to people breaking them?

With the wavetrac, they have a lifetime warranty, is that only to the original purchaser or will "I have a wavetrac, it went boom!" get replaced no questions asked?

The new 35 spline Truetrac hasn't been out long enough to see just how reliable it is. I haven't heard of any problems with one yet. The Wavetrac's are durable but they can break, a six speed dumping the clutch is hard on parts. The good thing about the wavetrac is if you break one, send it in to Autotech and they replace it. I haven't heard of them denying any claims. Bob
