Default Dyno difference between S60 and 9"?

Does anyone have any data on this? I'm very curious and wondering as I get close to buying one of these. I'm looking at the Moser 9 (not fabbed) or the S60 with my A4.

The 60 eats more power and is a little heavier usually. Not enough to be able to tell with allot of power. A 12 bolt will eat the least power usually and is fine for many running much faster than I ever will. Seen them all go 7s in the 1/4 and seen them all break running 9s with some tire shake.

I would find the cheapest one then and throwing in there. That's usually a 12 bolt.

The S60 uses LESS power than a 9 inch.

^^^^This is true. The greater a pinion is offset from the ring gear centerline the more parasitic drag the rear will have.

I've seen that even though the 60's weigh more, they eat less power and make less noise.

With an auto/torque arm setup this would be my line of thinking.

UMI just came out with a kit to help out with the TA mount issues some people had as well. 12-bolt would probably be a good option for you!

Wow guys. I've heard a lot of negative talk about the 12 bolt, but I've seen positive feedback as well. I would like to go with a 12 bolt but had kinda ruled it out with everyone talking about the torque arm issue and noise.

They seem to be fine behind the A4 noise wise and with UMI's new kit the TA problem should be less of an issue. I recently dropped the coin on a FAB9 because I have poor financial planning abilities and they're so dang pretty. But it sounds like the 12-bolt would work fine for you.

The problem is most of what youre reading is repeated bullshit and not actual factual advice. I do not regret my 12 bolt purchase. I chose it, I built it, and I race it.

Not to mention if you want to auto-x or road race the 12 bolt is a better option than a stamped 9 inch or s60 based on unsprung weight alone.

Only straight line stuff here. So does the 33 spline hold your power?

I just ordered a FAB9 and will be running bolt on power through it for a little while haha

01SS is the dude who is thrashing on a 12-bolt with no issues. I think you'll be fine though, the A4 is pretty easy on rears.
