Whining Sound...AGAIN!!!

Whining Sound...AGAIN!!! - UPDATED!!!! --- I just got my car back from the dealership. There were tons of things wrong with it; one of which was a "whirling" sound coming from the read end. They replaced my wheel bearings and ring and pinion and all that good stuff. Total was like $1500 just for the rear.
Now, I picked up the car last night and the whirling sound is gone, but now I get a whining sound when I am driving around. The faster I go, the louder it gets. It only whines when I press on the gas. When i let off, about a second or two later the sound goes away. Any ideas on what this could be?

The tech probly dint set the gears right. Is this under warranty? If you paid $1500 out of your pocket, 1k more you could of gotten a 12 bolt. Bring it back to the dealer and complain till they fix it.

The $1500 was covered under an extended service plan. I called the dealership as soon as I heard the noise (about 5 minutes after I picked up the car). I have an appt. on Sunday to take it back in. Hopefully it wont be under the knife for too long.

Hi, im in st.louis, MO and i set up rearends. It doesn't matter what the gear ratio is, if it's set up properly, they don't make any noise. There's a big difference between setting gears up with a pinion depth gauge and just bolting them in. Make them show you there pinion setting gauge. Sometimes, when you go from one set of gears to the exact same ratio, you'll get lucky bolting them and they might be quiet, but every set should be measured and shimmed accordingly. good luck, and if you have questions, you can write me.

Well well well...when I got the car back from the dealer, it made the same noise.
So, I took it back again. This time he said that the rear diff case was messed up and that the axle gears were stripped.
Basically..another $1000 worth of repairs. Praise the lord for warranty!
