Default Broken axle

Just put these in a week ago when I changed my gears. Today coming off the highway turning right left rear axle snapped. Could this have been anything other than a manufacturer defect? Axles only have about 200 miles on them still breaking in the gears.

It’s a 96 Z 6spd, 10 bolt stock Auburn with 4.11’s that were just replaced, all new bearings and crush sleeve eliminator. Felt like a new car I had been nursing a bad rear end for 3 years and finally wiped out a couple teeth on the ring gear. Then taking an exit off the highway the left rear let go. Not the tightest of corners or anything weird to it, checked yesterday for any pot holes or anything I could have hit and there is nothing there. Car is back together with the old axles and driving fine.

If it broke coming off an exit then it seems like it was a manufacturing issue. just some bad luck I guess.

The old OEM axles are of american manufacture, all the replacement axles are of 'offshore' manufacture.

Where they come from is identified by the UPC code. USA Alloy axles for 98-02 F-bods come from Italy, but doesn't mean they were made there.

Box on these say Made in India. I’ll run the originals for now, still have not heard back from Alloy USA. Just about time to park it for winter anyway.
