yes. Since the spool keeps both rear tires turning the same speed during a turn it causes the frontend to push. It's most noticable during tight slow turns such as in the parking lot.

actually its not bad at all. this thread was meant to be a joke. this is the worst part of having a spool, but to me its nothing. i've driven in the rain ALOT and as long as you drive like its raining outside your cool.

I have NO problems with the spool. I actually prefer it to a posi

The only things I watch out for is parking. Dont leave the spool loaded up when you park. Move forward/backward to release the pressure on the axles and then go into your spot.

Im still deciding myself spool, posi, or locker. The spool doesnt seem that bad at all. I have heard that it cuts you DR life down alot. Does anyone know how much?

It does make a pretty big difference because whenever you turn you are dragging a tire across the concrete

Don't worry, that's normal if you have a Zexel diff, which you prolly have. It uses worm gears for the locking action and not clutchs like other limited slip diffs. It'll act like an open diff on normal/light torque situations and lock up when more slip is generated. I have the same on mine, and it bugs the hell out of my 'cos it's kinda unnerving when taking off while turning 'cos the rearend is loose until the gears kick in.
