Default do i need a 12-bolt?

well my 10-bolt went on me. one good hook on nittos and byebye! my driving is very comparable to a soccer mom. i have only caught 3 races with this car in 3 summers, and dont go to the track. granted throwin money into a 10-bolt is always bad, but my driving is very mello. it was my first time ever "flooring" it from a dead stop! and look what happens!
the only thing left that i want to do is headers, and intake, and a tune. should i invest the money for a 12-bolt or fix the 10-bolt??

Well, seeing as how you floored it and got a good hook on Nittos, your driving is not mello. Don't waste money on the 10-bolt. Do it properly and buy a 12-bolt (especially since you'll continue modding in the future).

i would think that after having the car for 3 summers, and never flooring it out of the hole is pretty mello to me.

thanks J

well, like you said - it only took that one time. So if you can make sure that you never gun the throttle out of the whole ever again, then stay with a 10-bolt.

Like said before, it only took one time... Now you'll probably be even more paranoid and drive even slower! That takes away the fun of having a muscle car.

I just ordered a Moser 12 bolt with 4.11s. The reason, in addition to the performance gains, was piece of mind. I should be able to gun it on the street whenever I want with no worries.

The cost of the thing is ugly, but if you plan to keep the car and use the power, I think its a must with a MN6.

I have a friend that consistantly cuts 1.6 60's on DR's and a stock 10 bolt. He has a Yank converter and Mac mids. He just bought a spare 10 bolt from the for sale section for like $250 just in case.

Did your car wheel hop? If so LCA's and a used 10 bolt might be the answer.

Same thing happened to me, but it was at the track during a "Street King" bracket race. My BFG DR's caught and left my rearend in the dumps. My car's been down ever since, now looking for a 12-bolt because i'm going to continue modding......so i think its a good idea like EverclearZ sed.

lets see....2k for a 12 bolt that has a habit of breaking as well, or 200 for a 10 bolt...u know, i think id take my chances with teh 10 bolt myself.

i've been runing 340 rwhp 351 rwtq na on my car for about 5 months, and now been runninga 175 shot wet...still going strong just watch your launch. dont really need to cut a 1.6 60 foot when you spray a 175 shot
