Whats going bad?

I have 3.73's in my car, they were in it when I bought it. When I try to to do a burn out on the road, only one wheel spins. I posted this problem a while back, but didn't get a firm answer.

It doesn't whine or make any odd noises, the only thing is only one wheel spins, and It slips around turns a little.

Whats going bad?

Does it whine while driving down the road? also what type car is it, V8's are posi Aulburn or Torsen V6's are nonposi.

Possibly a faulty clutch in the Differential.

Sounds like if you have a limited-slip, it's shot. Need you a TrueTrac.

its a 1998 T/A A4
Now you say the L/S is shot, that means the whole dif needs to be replaced?
and could the gears I have in there now be swaped into the new dif., assuming they are in good shape?

And what am I looking at price wise, and what will I have to buy, gears, rearend, and how much for install?
I don't know much about rear ends, so any help would be appreciated.

You don't have to replace the whole rear, just the posi. Breaking stuff is an excuse to upgrade though
