Torque Arm questions...Help!
After Speed Inc. took a look at it, they noticed the torque arm was literally being ripped from it's mount. They recommended the BMR X-Treme Duty Torque Arm, I'm guessing because it doesn't connect to the tranny tailshaft and therefore, ripping out again WON'T be a problem.
Just wondering if there were any alternatives (preferably cheaper?) to the X-Treme Tq. Arm that would work as well or better, and stop this problem. Spohn? Random Tech?
Need help, ASAP!
Thanks!
I'm pleased with it.

Are there any reported problems with the Spohn? It just seems that the area of the G-load brace. Those 4 bolts don't seem to be the strongest area IMO. I'd be a little nervous about the bolts being stripped.
I think if I had to choose another TQ arm, I'd go with the BMR Xtreme

Yank makes a crossmember that allows you to mount the stock torque arm off the tranny. Includes a driveshaft loop too. As of now the Spohn unit looks like a nicely made unit that will handle anything...
Bos, yes I've seen under your car. You also have an aftermarket crossmember. Joe doesn't want that. You have to weld that in.
We plan to install the new arm ourselves (Izzo's backed up and Joe wouldn't be able to get in for at least a month)
Anyone got any tips on installing a torque arm (Spohn particularly) and setting the pinion angle?
Thanks!
Anyone got any tips/trick and instructions on how to install the Spohn unit?
Looks pretty straight forward.
Also, when setting the pinion angle, it's best to do this WITH the driver IN the car, correct?
I'm pretty sure they know what they were doing when they designed the Torque Arm.
Also I do have the "older version" which is a different design than the new one.
The install is pretty straight forward and comes
set at 0 degrees pinion angle (there is a red mark on the adjusting nut which will face down when installed). Hope this helps.
