believe it. that's my car happened last night at kanawha valley dragstrip in west virginia.
I really don't know how it broke with only 380rwhp on street radials(albeit with vht). hell, I only came off the line at 3500rpm, then clunk, pow, clang clang clang is all I heard.
I'm gonna talk to the guy that built the centersection for me ( I feel sooo dirty for having someone else do work for me
) and see what kinda deal he'll work out on fixing it, cuz it shouldn't have broke under those conditions. I'm gonna try out a strange nodular case with a daytona pinion support this time.

I broke one in my friend's LT1 on the street shifting to 2nd gear. He also had about 380 rwhp. Was running some cheap kumho 315's, but apparently had enough power to bust the whole front off just like the pictures.

The pinion sopport prob wasnt torqued or the bolts worked loose... Plus people cant get the concept that those OE peices have been sitting in some truck or wrecking yard for 30 years and have a hundred or so thousand miles on them The sock stuff is crap it would be like putting a used set of heads on your motor...
