Anyone know the mathmatical forumula for...
I don't know how to do it and would like to know.
Like, what rpm will i be turning with 4.10 gears in a six speed car with stock 17 inch SS wheels and tires?
That's a hypethetical question. I want the forumula for how to calculate that kind of info.
Thanks guys,
Alan

I can write it out if you need it but this is easier.
Thanks!
Alan
R = [RPM]
T = [transmission gear ratio (eg: 3.4:1 would be 3.4)]
F = [final drive ratio (rear end gear, as in 3.42 or 4.10)]
C = [circumference of rear tire in feet]
Fm = ((R/T)/F) * C [feet per minute]
Mm = Fm/5280 [miles per minute]
Mh = Mm/60 [miles per hour]
So. Mh = ((((R/T)/F)*C)/5280)/60
Am I close?
Bring up either of the webpages, and either right click on the page and select source or select view then source. That will show you the source code for the webpage. You will see the formula in there.
