Question lining up a rear end

I just had to replace my gears in the 10 bolt and when I got the car back from the shopthe rear tire on the passengers side is scrubbing the on the inside of the fender well. So when you look how far the tire sticks out past the outside fernder well, the drivers side sticks out about 1/2 inch and the passengers side doesn't stick out at all. So it looks like I need to center the rear before I start beating out the inner fender wells. Does anybody have any experince doing this? The car has not been lowered so I can't see why its off so much? I guess I could buy an aftermarket adjustable pan hard but I can't figure out why the stock ones off so far.

I put 4.10s in mine and I've got the same problem. I just bought an adjustable yesterday and installing it today. I'll let you know when I'm done and hop back on here again.

Why do you need to center it?
The 'shop' you took it to should warrant their work and parts for 12 months. Look on the back of your work order.
Have them do the fix.

How in the world did the axle become un-centered? All they did was pull the axles, change the gears, and put it back together. Unless it was off before and you never noticed it??? If they screwed something up, I would be after them to fix it.

My 87 was like that. Mysteriously off to one side. An adjustable panhard bar solved that problem completely. Those stamped steel panhard bars and panhard bar braces arent too hard to tweak.

Its beyond my thinking how it could get off so much. I just installed a set of 315/35/17 BFG Drag Radials and took off a set of 315/35/17 555R Nito Drag radial and I swear the damn BFGs are wider than the Nittos. But I've also discovered that the passerger side of my exaust is twisted and not level like the drivers side. And they are on a Hooker catback so something is screwed up. The shop that installed it will fix it for free I'm sure but I was just trying to figure it out. Don't make no sense at all. Well if I got to buy an adjustable panhard rod I guess one brands as good as another.....thanks Justin

The two bars I would look at is the BMR and the Spohn. I personally have a spohn, and deal with him for everything suspension related. I have the one with the poly bushings at both ends. Great piece. That should fix ya up...

I installed it and straight as an arrow. I don't recommend doing it on the ground though. I'm a pretty little guy and had a hell of a time getting the stock pan hard out. I'm not lowered either but I even took it out for a test drive, and that even normal driving made a pretty big difference also.
