Stroked, yes, please do take pics if you have Eric's drag anti sway bar setup.

We are looking for good pics of the sway bar connection to the body as well.

Thanks

these rearends are just the same as any.... you lower it far enough and something will hit. this style torque arm mounting setup will usually have 1.5-2 inches clearance on the driveshaft tunnel with no issues. a standard 9 inch with a traditional type torque arm will hit the tunnel at stock ride height.

so a little hammering in the tunnel on my lowered car should do the trick. My car is lowered 1.5 inches so it might need a little hammering. Not the end of the world. MM did you just hammer a little?

haha.. no

i did major hammering to the tunnel/firewall transition and minimal cutting to the square tubing up near the gas tank, still hits on good bumps or with more than just a driver in the car.

your tq arm may clear the firewall better than mine, that i have no idea about. but at some point the top link will definitely hit the square brace up in there. thankfully at least hitting that before hitting the gas tank

So is your TA connection to the housing not the normal Midwest design? Will I have better clearance than you do you think? Thanks. I just hope I do not have to do any cutting.

they way my car sits in that picture the top link of the tq arm was hitting the body before i cut the brace away. thats all i can say for sure. I know the top link position is the same on my rear as any other midwest rear. but potentially not at the same angle.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but this is a great thread and I'm confused about these rearends and clearance.

Lots of people here on 'tech say that there are no clearance problems with the moser 9 inch, or other aftermarket rearends, but a lot of people say that they had clearance issues. Does it just depend on what kind of f body you have? Are the LT1 bodies on the underside totally different than LS1 bodies?? Or is it just a matter of the car being lowered a lot?

Here are a few links I found regarding this:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...all+inch+moser <--Torque arm hits tunnel/floorboard

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...learance+moser <--same thing

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...learance+moser <--"pretty much nothing fit when i put mine in."

Any help/advice would be great, thx guys

I am running the strano lowering springs, with the standard Midwest TA design and I am nowhere near hiting with the TA. It is well on the bumpstops befre it is close

plain and simple... any 9 inch rear with a stock type torque arm will hit the tunnel. there is no physical way to mount the t/a in the stock location on a 9 inch rearend. it has to be moved forward and toward the drivers side to clear the pinion support area, thus causing the arm/bracket to hit the tunnel at stock ride height. this is why i came up with the design we manufacture here. stock ride height or slightly lowered cars will have no problems whatsoever with my setups.

the length of the driveshaft depends on what yokes you are using. most of the Strange shafts i have been selling are 41 5/8 c to c. this is basically the stock length, but the Strange yokes are different than stock.

Underside of a LT1 and LS1 fbody are nearly identical.
