So did anyone have to hammer on the tunnel to get their 9" in and clearanced or was it just straight bolt in and go?

this is a true bolt-in setup. all the hardware is included also. you could install it in your driveway with normal hand tools if you wanted to. there are no clearance issues with the tunnel, gas tank, panhard brace or anything else.

I have Strano springs and the upper T/A mount would hit the sheet metal floor brace on bumps with a large passenger( Not my wife by the way). It was an easy fix to clearance the brace.

As Eric and others have stated, no clearance issues here either.

Yea.. if your stock ride height you should be good. Lowered may have to clearance a little.

I believe the midwest fab9 has better clearance then moser.. I could be wrong, but i thought i remember reading it somewhere.

I have some questions about setting the pinion angle. I have read all the searches and I understand how it works however, can I use just a Smart level (digital) on the bottom of the pinion and be done? Set my torque arm till the gauge says -2 or thereabouts?? Second is my setup currently does not have the torque arm in the car and the housing does face upwards, I think it is because the swaybar is fighting the rearend when unloaded causing this, so how would I start with the torque arm and were would I want to start with the heims? Do you get the top and crossmember heim lined up and put the bolt thru it and then just adjust the bottom adjuster until the bottom heim lines up and then proceed to adjust your pinion angle?? I did a test fir of the torque arm and I seemed to be fighting between the 3 heims and the current angle of the housing facing upwards. I wanted to post this in here because the setup I am dealing with you are all familiar. Thanks for the help.

Talk to Eric. He helped me with understanding how to set the pinion angle.

I just purchased a 2000 TransAm WS6 M6. The seller installed a Midwest Chassis 9" with 4.10 gears. Several questions: 1.) Is whining normal for these rearends? When I am cruising, then let off the gas, it goes through seemingly a neutral area where there is no whining noise. and 2.) Do these rearends come with emergency brake setups? I have no emergency brake whatsoever! Thanks in advance....

Depends on who setup the gears as to whether they will whine or not....my 3.90 setup by Eric do not at this point and I have almost 1,000 miles(all street and highway though). If you have the correct backing plates on the rearend you should have E-brake capabilities unless the previous owner deleted it or your running a race brake setup.

How many seals should come with the rear? I had the two bearings bt they didnt come with O rings and someone said there should be two seals to seal around the axle.

Also what should everything be set at? I got it pretty straight am not sure about the optimum pinion angle or weather the LCAs should be level or slightly higher in te front or rear?

Thanks!
