Are 4.10's for me?
Right now I have mods in sig, and will soon have full bolt ons (I just need a UD pulley and LS6 intake.) I am then spending a couple G's for the full UMI/Strano/Koni suspension kit. After that, in a year or two, get a Nitrous set up (just a 100 shot) sine the car is my DD, and I can drive it DD with no extra power wear on it, like a Cam or FI would.
The reason I ask is, I've actually heard people saying their car was actually SLOWER after a 4.10 gear install. They say they felt like it was faster because if the torque feel, but times shower they got slower.
I ask because I want to know if they are right for me. I'll be stock other than the future N20. Do 4.10s do better for modded HP cars? I hear if not modded then the 4.10's won't do much after 2nd gear?
Just trying to see if they are right for me. Thanks. Maybe clear up how the benefit certain cars.
. But arent 4.10s harder on a stock 10 bolt? Mine puts out decent power and I would worried that making it easier for the motor to spin the wheels would equal more strain on the already weak rear end. I want 4.10s becuase with my cam and clutch driving my car in traffic, launching is a fine line between stalling it and peeling out, she wants to be aggressive. 4.10s would definitly help there but wouldnt be worth it if they cause more strain on my 10 bolt. Thanks
