Default Will my 10 bolt hold on?

Sup guys i am just wondering if my stock 10 bolt will hold on with a few passes at the track. In about a week i am gonna put the 4:10s in the car. Also i am gonna buy the T/A gridle for the back also some Moser 31 spline axles. I know everybody probably thinking this guy should just buy a 9 inch and stop putting money in that piece of crap 10 bolt. Don't have the money for the price range right now. But back to the topic will my 10 bolt hold on a bit longer before going kaboom.

it really depends on how hard you launch it and how hard you shift it. but i would think it would make a couple passes.

No.

Don't waste money on the axles. What are you going to say when your axles don't break, but your carrier lets loose instead? That is the problem with the 10 bolt. It's a vicious never ending cycle of replacing parts. Do the 4.10s if you want to, put the axle money in a piggy bank labeled "9 inch fund" and don't count on it holding together in the meantime while you flog it at the track.

I think it would be best to start saving up for a 12bolt, especially for an M6.
I'm still on the stock 10bolt myself w/4.10 gearing and every pass knocking on wood. Good luck.

If you can afford to buy all those parts to beef up your 10 bolt you should be able to save a little longer and get a 12 bolt or 9".

it all depends on how your drive it daily, if you beat it i wouldnt think it would hold up especially with a nice sticky tire

My vote goes to doin the 4.10s and launchin around 2500 with street tires. Save money and use money from the change jar and get that 12 bolt. Once funds are ready then run the **** out of the 10 bolt and see how long it lasts. Plus once something breaks...time to upgrade!!!

Dont get the axles for the 10 bolt just do the gear and put a horse shoe in your ***! Seriously though the axles are not the problem with are cars its the gears,posi and carrier. TA girdle is a good idea though. My cousin took his car to the track after he had his gear professionally installed and broke it in and on his 3rd pass his posi exploded. He was on a BFG drag radial and lauched at 3200k rpm. He had it fixed and since then has not ran it at the track and its holding up just fine on the street and he beats the **** out of it every time he drives it becase its just his weekend toy. And he does not have a TA girdle. Good luck!
