Camaro Vs Mustang - August Sales
Camaro -8680
Mustang - 6289
Down 23% from last year.
Sceptics wonder if the new 5.0 is to blame for the low sales. Though most sells are the V6 Model.

Im no expert but maybe the sales are down because there was no camaro last year...duh.
The mainstream consumer has no clue and probably doesnt even care about the 5.0 motor coming.

^^^Still in debate. The new 6speed is rumored not to hit untill 2014. Although the V6 is gettin the new 3.7L 280hp V6 in 2011....so why wouldnt ford drop the 5.0L...well see.

Yeah cause Ford has really been interested in GT performance the past 15+ years. With their record of sub 315hp modular nightmares since '96, I'll believe it when I see it. Wouldnt it have been more worth while to drop this new mystery engine in with the redesigned 2010 model?

Nothings official, and from what Ive read a New boss and Mach 1 are in the works....and there the only ones gettin the 5.0 and Tr6060 trans. With the mustang sales down nearly 25%....I doubt Ford is going to drop and new engine and trans and raise the price to what we pay for the SS...around 31 to 34k. A premium mustang GT with track pack runs around 36k. Albeit with the new motor and trans itll be around 38k-40k.
We"ll see.

???
My post simply meant that there was no camaro last year so thats why the mustang sales are down this year. When the consumer has another option in the same price range it would only stand to reason the mustang would sell less this year.
If Im not mistaken he stated mustang sales were down 23% and not camaros.
Did you guys think I was referring to camaro sales being down 23% from last year when it didnt even exist?
I should LOL back at you

Ford chose to wait a year on the new drivetrain, we'll see if it pays off next year.
3.7L V6 to be rated at 315 horsepower: Same as 2010 GT; 15 hp more than Camaro V6
No immediate plans for EcoBoost V6 Mustang due to small horsepower gap between EcoBoost and 5.0L V8 (365 vs 400)
2011 Mustang GT to be rated at 400 horsepower, will get increase in 2012
2011 Mustang GT to get 6-speed transmission and variable valve timing
2011 Mustang GT Track Pack to include Brembo brakes
2011 Mustang GT 5.0L V8, 6-speed, track pack, Brembo brakes ran even with 414-hp BMW M3, which is 200 lbs lighter, at GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan
2011 Shelby GT500 to get Aluminum Block
Next special edition: 2012 Boss

I hate mustangs just as much as everybody else here but you cant compare the numbers. The mustang has been out since 05 they just change the look for 2010. There is no reason for the a mustang owner that has an 09 to go buy a 2010 unless they really want the differnt look. Now the Camaro hasnt been around for 8 years so of course more will sell than the mustang.

Its funny how you know what ford will price your unofficial mustang at. And no **** sales are down, between the economy and the release of an 8 year in the making car in the same segment can you say your surprised? Lets be realistic here.

Id like to see that with the BMW.....no need to **** your pants with anger, im excited to see a new 5.0, and if you got some legitimate intell on the return of the 5.0 in 2011 as a base GT model...id like to see it. Agree with me though that the Mustang will see a higher price tag, I mean comeon, a new Motor and Trans, theres no way its sticking to under 30k.
