I think the biggest problem is that these cars are (obviously) so dependant on forced induction to go fast, and people get them so damn hot. I'd love to see how consistantly a car with only an upgraded cooling system/IC for the supercharger would work.

The older GT500's were notorious for heatsoak as well. The newer ones are better, but still not great.

No less than 40k im sure so with mmy boys remaining 30k he saved by not buying a peice of **** ford he can make that camaro into something ford will only dream about ever having and who gives a **** whether youre impressed by those numbers you bring up that the 5.0 can run low 10s with bolt ons the zl1 did the same thing with a mild tune and drag slicks. Oh and ill go back to my boys camaro one last time for ***** and giggles he makes 360 to the rear wheels the shitstang dynod at 379 so its obviously still too ******* heavy so chevy isnt thee only ones making really expensive paperweights
Dude, face reality!!! The new 5.0 Mustangs are faster, end of the story!!! Also, that ZL1 cant compete with the 13 GT500 as well! got to the tracks or street races and you will see. GM need to go back to the drawing board, its that simple.

Lolololololol.. I hear this all the time.. then I see the headlights in a mirror. . There are just as many shitty drivers in mustangs as Zl1 s.. on the street the 112-113 mph traps 5.0s put up have a hard time beating anything.. the GT500 is a great motor in **** *** car.. it costs 66000 to get a GT500 with what ford wants to pass off as good parts, I.e suspension, brakes, seats, ALL HAVE BEEN BAGGED BY EVERY SOURCE as crap compared to the 5-6000 cheaper Zl1. . If I wanted a badass motor in a junk car that does not handle or stop worth a ****, id buy a foxbody or a fourth gen..

The other thing is the fact it costs 350 bucks and a tune and the zls make the same power if not more...

Pick up February (the new one just out) copy of Car an Driver Magazine and read the Lightning Lap article. The ZL1 finished 3rd behind a Lexus LFA an a Ferrari 458. The GT 500 finished 6th. Slower lap times. About the only place it was faster then the ZL1 was in the long straight. Had about 4 MPH on the ZL1. interesting article worth reading. The only thing the GT 500 has over the ZL1 is horsepower.

niether are street cars.. they even say how the "sealed crate engine" was making somewhere north of 500 hp... i see lots of street driven 5.0s making 450 to the tires without so much as a air cleaner.. common around here...

GTFO..

I have a ZL1, until you ride in one you can`t truly understand how nice a car it is. The ride, handling and power are great.. It`s a little short on power but I`m fixing that as we speak. I could have bought a GT 500, but the ford has nothing on what the ZL1 offers ride quality wise. Change the pulley`s, CAI, and a tune and your 590rwhp with a auto. Less than 5k will get you there and still under the cost of a GT500. Trust me, this car is awesome. My build should push close to 700rwhp. She will be done this friday and I can`t wait. This is a GREAT car fellas..
