I want a 1SS with the RS package. I think the pricing is pretty reasonable.

Agree, for what the car is and has you are getting a pretty nice deal....and just go to dealers who will sell it for the MSRP and and hassle with them for a deal. Or just wait for the dealers to have specials on them a few months after release.

In my case, I have a year of college left after this one so I am aiming for winter 09 or spring 10 to pick me one up.

Thumbs up

Very good news. I had pegged the base V8 at somewhere between $29,995.00 and $31,995.00 (I might've even said $30,995.00 in some posts )....looks like it fell right in the middle of my predictions/hopes.
Good job GM/Chevrolet, a GREAT car at a competitive price.

They pulled it off, they will be nicely rewarded for not pricing these cars too high.

I think those are damn good prices for what we are getting. and a 300hp v6 for 22k, good job that should steal some from the mustang side

That would have been a good idea. A 29k SS with 120 more HP than a GT would have FUCKED Ford enthusiasts!!!

This is awesome. It came in $1000 under my prediction. Looks like I'll be making my order Winter of 2009 or Spring 2010.

Is it possible to get the auxiliary gauges with the 1SS?
I'll take the 1SS myself. Please. Anyone got $30k that I could have?

The base V8 price is almost 5k more then a Mustang. The camaro is a better car, but GM needs a V8 camaro at the same price as the Mustang. I thought the idea was to have a comparable V8. This sucks.

A base model GT starts at 27k, with what? 300hp and a long over used motor.
A base model SS starts at 30k, with what? Over 400hp, new LS3 motor, new car/platform/better interior.

I said before im willing to bet the new 2010 Mustang will cost a little more then the current ones.

You need to stay in school longer and learn some math . . .

To be FAIR you must compare MSRP, as well as similar options . .

A base ZERO optioned 2009 Corvette MSRP is $47,895, which includes leather . . .

A Camaro SS with leather puts you into a 2SS, $34,180 . . .

So with my BASIC math skills . . . that is a $13,715 difference between the two . . . NOT EVEN CLOSE!

GM did very well with their pricing . . . you sir earn a "F" on your report card.

That may be true but to get the Mustang optioned up to the base SS the price gap is more like $2,000 . . . sure is there a price gap? Yes, has there always been one? Yes . . . Has the Mustang always been beaten by the Camaro? Yes . . .

Is a 100% BRAND new 400+ horsepower Camaro worth more than an antiquated old school Mustang, where their V8 can only muster the same HP as the V6 Camaro . . . ?

My Z/28 cost me 22k...brand new.

I have seen C6's under 40k. 35k plus a few thousand equals around 40ish, there are some good deals on C6's going on.

I want a cheap camaro with a V8 that is what this car means to the vast majority of us.

Oil prices are falling because the economy is falling. We are running out of easy to access oil...so I am not really wishing to spend top dollar on a gas-hog.

My 2002 Z/28 gets 30 mpg and cost me considerably less.

not bad.. it could have been worse. But i was hoping for a stripper or something like the 4th gen with a LS model being low-mid 20s with lack of options of course..
