Challenger SRT8 - 4100lbs and 425hp
Camaro SS : 3800-3900lbs and 450hp/LS3

Camaro has the better power to weight ratio and will win the drag races. I believe that dodge will drop the 6.1L in the SRT8 and goto the SRT10 in 2011-2012

The camaro is 422hp 9.24lb/hp
Challenger 9.65lb/hp

But there is also gearing to consider. It looks like the camaro should be faster on paper. The challenger does have the 6.1 in it already.

The G8 GT runs faster as the R/T versions and some stock G8 GTs are running damn near what the SRT version is pulling so I don't think the Camaro weighing a bit less and making more power will have any issues.

ive heard 13.6 from a 6speed RT. SRT is only 50 HP more than the RT

the camaro will be a better performer though in all categories.

Given that all the car magazines said the GT (Zeta) raped the Charger (LX Platform)

I don't see why the Camaro (Zeta Platform) wouldn't outperform the Charger SRT 8 (LX platform still) in every category also

There is no way GM would drop the Camaro name for the challenger.

every magazine ive seen is running high 13's in the challenger. its just heavier and with 425 horses (in the srt) i just see that pretty pathetic. they are beautiful but should be better. i put a big vote in for the Camaro getting to the end of the 1/4 first

Just in to post some real world numbers. Stock Auto 5.7L Challenger R/T's are running mid 13's at 105+ on the challenger forums.

I really dont understand why people think the camaro isnt going to come out, anyways I think the camaro will take it on the 1/4 without too much trouble, dont get me wrong it will be close though

The Camaro has a better power/weight ratio (9.24 vs 10.66 R/T, 9.65 SRT8), but the Challenger has a gearing advantage (3.45 SS vs 3.90 R/T and SRT8). I think it will take an R/T pretty easily and probably just edge out the SRT8.

Its going to be a great showdown, but I think in the end the Camaro is going to take the challenger down hard. You will see high 12's out of the Camaro. If I could get a 13.3 out of my GTO when it was bone stock there is no reason why a pro driver cant get a 12.9 out of a Camaro.
