V6 with a few mods = quite impressive!
I have been interested to see how well the 3.6 DI motor responds to mods, this may be old news to some but thought I would post it anyways, I headed over the cadillac forums and this is what I found:
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...ains-over.html
So Intake and Exhaust = 294.2 rwhp / 261.3 rwtq
There was no tune with this, and I have read that a tune is good for nice gains as well.
So if I am reading this all right, Intake, Exhaust, and Tune is going to put these 6'ers over 300rwhp
I think the V6 is going to impress a lot of people
Anyways, still gonna be a M6 LS3 SS for me, but just thought a base camaro with the numbers these 3.6 DI motors put out will be quite impressive and quite a good bang for the buck
Definately won't mind driving one of these for a rental car if they end up being rented like the mustangs

Thank you all for your patience and we are happy to announce the results are in! Attached are dyno graphs from our 2008 CTS 3.6L DI RWD.
Baseline run: vehicle produced 263.0 rwhp and 241.7 lbs/tq.
Adding the new Corsa Exhaust power jumped to 281.1 rwhp and 255.3 lbs/tq. for an increase of 18.1 rwhp and 13.6 lbs/tq
From here, we added our intake system and power jumped to 294.2 rwhp and 261.3 lbs/tq for an increase of 13.1 rwhp and 6.0 lbs/tq. Total gain in power was 31.2 rwhp and 19.6 lbs/tq. from just an intake and exhaust.

Almost 300 rwhp in a 3800lbs 2010 V6 CAMARO that should be a high 13 sec car.You got to figure a 02 SS A4 stock has a little over 300rwhp @ 3445lbs & runs low 13's so add 500lbs that should be high 13's.

4th Gens weigh 3300? since when? lol. Maybe a base stripper model.
My 2001 Z28 weighed 3570 from the factory.
The V6 5th Gen will be a mid-14 second car stock.
It won't be hard at all to get them into the 13s.
Take a look at what the CTSs are running with the 304hp DI V6 (same V6 as Camaro)
V6 Camaro is about 200lbs lighter than a CTS.

The weight difference is a little more than that. Most LS1 fbods dyno 31xrwhp and 32xrwtq. This means the hp and torque are down around 20hp and 60ftlbs respectively. It'll probably be solid mid 14s. That makes it closer to a 15 second car here at altitude and temperature.

When the hell did all you guys decide that 4th generation f-bodies were lightweights and the new camaro is a fat pig? The 4th gen was a fat pig for its time too. Cars now adays weigh more, get over it. The v6 with 300rwhp will run just a bit slower than a 4th gen with 300rwhp, but in no way is it going to be slower "just because it's a v6".

Well with some more searching on the cadillac forums it looks like the RWD CTS with the same motor is running anywhere from 14.5-14.8 @ 95+ mph. So depending on the driver, track, etc.. the CTS is a Mid to high 14 second car.
The CTS is not geared for drag racing and more for top end I am guessing, and is also heavier than the V6 Camaro will be, so I would assume with the Camaro being geared for off the line acceleration better than the CTS is, and it being slightly lighter, I would bet it will run Low to Mid 14's with a good driver such as a 14.3-14.6 1/4... STOCK
Shown in the dyno graphs you can add another 35-40rwhp with just exhaust and intake, and I would assume another 15-25 rwhp with a tune, I will have to do some more digging.
So 40-60rwhp over stock... sounds like the car should be knocking on 13's with those three mods..
I wasn't trying to start an arguement with this thread, but rather simply show that for a V6 it will be quite impressive.
Remember guys, this is the BASE model.. While some think low-mid 14's is slow, for a BASE model this is quite respective.
Now the SS will be the real peformer

I guess I came off a little strong there, but I'm used to driving a 360whp/400wtq, 2860lb car every day. It's almost as fast as my turbo '02 SS was (117mph traps in the skittle). Weight kills performance. A 3750lb, 290whp/260wtq car is a serious dog to me. It will be ok for those not used to fast cars.

Orginally I started this post trying to make sense to V6 haters, but I erased everything, because no matter what I say, you say V6's suck, whether their pushing 250 hp or 300 hp.
If you don't want a 300 hp Camaro because its going to be slow, and you'd rather have a Civic, the hell with you

It has nothing to do with v6's. If the new camaro had a turbo v6 pushing over 400hp, then that would be cool in my book. What I, and many other here, don't care about or want is a slow Camaro. I would rather drive my FWD piece of crap neon than that, because it's way faster. I don't drive slow cars, that's all.

A stock A4 ls1 will dyno 290-300...(if you don't beleive me look it up) That means that after a good tune this DI v6 will be closing in on mid-high 13s... Its a Camaro, don't hate it just because it can make the power even in a v6...
