I read through the first 5 pages, and I would have to say that they are a little less closed-minded on average than LS1Techers on average from what I've seen. Only a very few that were complete dumb asses. The rest were spot on. Some even called the morons out with total smackdowns.

I have NO problem with a BMW fan who says, "Stock for stock, the Camaro is faster on any track, but I would rather drive a BMW for _____ reasons."

E90post.com,

Oh, and I take that back if things got stupid after page 5.

Hey, GM. Read these quotes, all from different members of the BMW board:

"However, if they were still making the F-Body plat form, I would of probably never bought the 335. But I am glad I did."

"After years of talk and no Camaro we ended up in a 335i."

OH, and ****, did Pharmd (who's posting from Blackberry) really lay the smack down:

"U cats need to open ur eyes, I love my 335i, but its not the end all be all, show some respect now because u won't have an option on the street, and this is from a 335 owner."

I read to page 7, and it was all good as far as I saw.

I have seen more than a few BMW's look like that too.

Yea, there will be a few Camaro's like that though, serriously.

I have the winter tires on now. The runflats are a little harsher but really stick

nothing like a 4 door 280rwhp bmw running with an LS1 vette with 300+rwhp weighing 400lb's less............anything can happen on the street right?

I can take the back doors off, jettison the seats, still be legal, and be right there at 3,000 lbs!

Not all LS1s though, Vettes included do 300+ and 335s pick up some power with race gas.

But maybe you are right. I should stick to racing stock Fbody LS1s.

However on further thought. If you look at the real posted drag strip times for LS1 Vettes they go from around 13.7 to 12.8 and mph from 103 to 111, all non Z06s I think.

The posted 335 times run 13.8 to 13.0 with mph from 103 to 108 (some 4 wheel drive 335Is in there).

So plenty of overlap to say its a drivers race.

But the 335 times are close to LS1 Fbody times stock to stock, right? Both weigh about the same. Given that all LS1s are created almost equal, why aren't those 400+ pound lighter Corvettes faster than they are?

I drove a 335xi recently. I sure wasn't expecting the power it had, and it was the best handling car I've driven in 25 years of having a drivers license. You could keep it on a razors edge with one finger on the steering wheel. I want one.

Wanna take over my lease and I buy your Goat? I miss the V8 and really like GTOs. I think the buyout is really going to be low from the other 335 leases expiring now.

Or consider this, I will trade you 2 cars, the 335 and the 97 WS6 + cash and you take over my lease. Nothing down. I know you do not like 4 doors so I will throw a 2 door in. I have two cars (well actually 4) and no free time.

Actually I am not kidding, I will post this idea over on LS2GTO. Oops can't do that I need 100 posts there.

True, the quickest known track time on record for a pure bone stock LS1 C5 (non Z06) is a 12.6 at roughly 111mph.
C5 Z06s of course have gone 11.8s and even an 11.7 in stock trim.

Well in many cases the LS1 C5s are not a full 400 pounds lighter (even less than 150 pounds depending on which models/option packages you're comparing) than the LS1 F-bodies and secondly, well, they are faster than they are as I'd noted above (12.6).

Tempting, but I just want to keep the goat for now. Focusing on the 135i. The xi I drove was a co-workers, and he is actually selling it to someone this weekend for 31K. I came so close to taking it. Still virtually brand new. He bought a new Challenger SRT that even he admits is not as good a car as the bimmer. I drove it and it felt like a dump truck in comparison. People who bash the 335i have never driven one.

11s with a stock LS1 Z06? Holy crap. After looking around I see LS2 vettes are not that far off the LS1 Z06 times and can be had in the high $20s on Ebay. Wow. I Like the targa. I know LS3s are a little faster but the lowest i see those are in the high $30s. So we can change this thread to C6+335i versus Camaro. I know the '08s have a little better steering and the LS3 but are ther any other changes? 8-10 Gs worth?

Last i checked i dont remember reading any magazines where bmw's outrun corvettes on tracks, wether we are talking 1/4 mile, autocross, skidpad or anything. Actually it seems in the last car and driver magazine i picked up, the 4300lb ctsv beat a new m3 around a race track. So why would i care anything about a bmw. It is not a performance car. It is a luxury sedan, and if i wanted one i would go after a cts-v not some slow bmw, no matter how light the steering is.

Well it's actually known as the LS6 Z06 but yes, they're really fast.

The LS3 is an awesome motor and makes the already great C6 even better but the LS2s are great as well and I don't feel it would be worth an extra $10k+ just to get the LS3 because most of the other few changes for '08 and '09 are quite minor.

I don't care what you read in a magazine. I would actually be embarrassed to publicly admit that all my information came from a magazine lol. Saying it is not a performance car shows your lack of knowledge about cars in general. You've never driven one so your opinion is meaningless.

I dislike those types of cars because of the types of people who drive them (majority). Now you guys are gonna say that douche bags drive f-bodys too but here in Miami 99% of people who drive BMW's, Mercedes, Lexus think that they are THE ****. I remember last semester I show up to my math lab and some girl tells me I have a nice car and i told she does too, just to be polite... not really of fan of how BMW's look.... anyways i tell her "You should tint it it will look really nice." and she says "Yeah right... Are you kidding me I want to be seen in that car." -_-

Kind of a weird reason for disliking a certain automobile. I don't pick a specific car to buy so I will fit in with some kind of image. You should be more secure in yourself.
